I like that the guy calls his own analysis "mind-blowing" and WARNS us that there are CONTROVERSIAL IDEAS within. Very modest. This movie sucked. The filmmakers confused being cryptic with being deep.
I was so incredibly disappointed with this movie. I felt like most of the visually beautiful moments were in the trailer and that the story/mythology was weak and confused. However for some reason watching both the parodic and the over-serious fan reviews of the movie makes me want to see it again. There is something wrong with me. On a more positive note, I did think the movie succeeded in creating an atmosphere of true weirdness at times. Kinda liked that. Maybe I'll think better of it on second viewing with lowered expectations.
It's like any other Lindelof plot, looks like a great concept and when it's backed by big studio might be something great. Then you get duped and realize it's filled with more plot holes than a block of Swiss cheese.
