Very cool Woo sculpt there Jon! You did some very nice work getting out the character, but he also has your own touch, and fits right in with your other 'Ultra' series fellas. I look forward to seeing the final version. And really great idea for the extra figure too - something fans will really appreciate.
Oh man. Can't wait to see that woo all painted up. And crossing fingers for a Gyango in the near future.
Thanks guys! Approval for the first Woo release is up, so here's a pic of the sample: Hoping for release online in May.
He is quite cute! He reminds me of the abominable snowman (the one with a tooth ache) in that kids Christmas special show--Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer...
ahahahaha'... this wacky Woo fucking rules....!!! so much fun.. his goofy "but serious" expression is just perfect.
Thanks people! Fingers crossed vinyl shows up soonish. This poor little fellah has been all sorts of delayed.
I never venture into these waters, but I've been checking this woo out online for the past week- really like it. Need to remind myself to purchase.
Yeah, I have been doing the same Lixx. Jon, you really did a great job on this fella. I may be biased, as I am a big Woo fan, but he looks like a wonderful toy. I really love his grumpy mug and old man face, and the classic colour combo of white with blue highlights, combined with his grey skin, really makes for a nice touch. The Yuki that comes with just makes me smile with glee. You really did another amazing job at capturing a Ultra monster Jon, while still giving it your very own characteristic touch. I think it is an interpretation nearly any Ultraman fan will appreciate. Thanks for bringing him to life!
Been outta here for a while, but figure I'll try and re-light this thing. Working on new sculpts for the series, and hoping for some of them to be ready by next Summer/Fall. Here's some recent additions:
Very nice stuff, Jon. Some great compliments to the lineup. That Red King, with bubblegum pink paint on top of flesh vinyl, with nice blue addition on the backside is a really interesting - and lovely - colour scheme. I look forward to seeing the new guys you are working on.
I love these, dude. These are rad, as well. The concept of the tanks inside is great, and adds SO much. View this post on Instagram
Oh Hey! It's a new color! And there are some new dudes coming up - hopefully next February at Wonfes if I can get my act together.
While I was hoping for a shot at the Toys-to-Art versions, I am very excited for another shot at a GID Pigumon. I like the colour scheme you have gone with here, Jon. The subtle silver texturing over just the right amount of green plays well on this sculpt. Very Yuji-like, which, I think you'll hopefully agree, I mean with high praise. I am definitely feeling a degree of childlike glee to hear that the Ultra series is expanding. Can't wait to see what is in the works.
Thanks man! As you can imagine, I’m also excited The new additions are going to be 1 thing that serves to ‘round out’ the series, and a few others that diverge significantly. Until I get initial approval on the sculpts I can’t say more.
Ah, such a tease, Jon! (We love you for your efforts though) An a somewhat related note - but feel free to keep your cards as close you need of course, i am just throwing out 'random' ideas here, that have nothing at all to go this converation... - I wonder how the new Tsuburaya rights decision (FINALLLLYY!!!!!!!) could/will impact non-Japanese toys, and the corresponding licensing and distribution.
Well, just managed to get the one prototype handed off to Marmit last I was over: GYANGO - sculpted by my buddy Bwana and finished off in wax by moi. Slated for February Wonderfestival release ^_^
Yes, yes, and moar yes. Lookin' mighty fine there, boy do I love me a Gyango sculpt. Fantastic work by yourself and Bwana, Jon. Some lucky folks at the WF will be very happy, I can say confidently. (But I also hope some somehow, some way, escape the geographical clutches) .
