    RC car help for Christmas
I'm looking for an intro RC car for my 6 yr old this Christmas and I'm definitely overwhelmed and under-informed :?

I don't want a crappy Wal-mart car that runs for like 10 mins if at all, but I'm not ready to get him a more advanced hobby car that will be awesome but cost an arm and a leg.

Do any of you fellow boardies have some experience with this hobby and have some recommendations? I'm basically looking at a max of $150.

We would be running it on the street and in our yard which is somewhat uneven so I'd like some decent off-road capabilities.

Thanks in advance for your help! :D

I would think the best place to start is you local rc hobby shop. I know my first and only RC car cost about $300 not including the remote.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I ended up going with the Losi mini desert "truck" 1/14 scale - it was about $130 through Amazon.
After extensive "research" I chose this because it is 4 wheel drive and has a brushless motor. None of the others in this price range, even up to $200, seem to have these features.

I already took it out, charged the battery and ran it around the house and it is FAST! I'm going to have to bring it down a bit for my son but so far I'm very happy with it. I will give the final verdict after some play time, after Christmas. Also, 1/14 scale is still freaking huge! I was worried about getting a tiny rc car but this is still about a foot long
