Boston Mayor kills soda but approves alcohol... http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/04/10/bo ... s-alcohol/
I saw that also. Its an interesting, hmm.. The wording for the councils says sugar sweetened, but with a large amount of all the sweetened drinks in the US being corn syrup....
New studies support claim that 'sugar is toxic'... http://www.foxnews.com/health/2012/04/0 ... -is-toxic/ http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/suga ... son-of-all
While I agree that sugar in large quantities is not good for you and can lead to loads of health problems, the doctors saying it's 'lethal' are morons. If that were the case I'd be dead years ago. I don't drink soda much at all so I could care less if they ban it. It's all about moderation. Drinking a lot of alcohol isn't good either.
Okay, he's doing this to make the healthier choice the easier choice, but I don't see where choice would apply, aside from his own to place the ban. And diet sodas are still OK by him? Are we aiming to achieve better health, or simply a more attractive physique? If I was making the "healthier choice" for people on their behalf without consent, I'd have at least ruled out diet drinks first, and created a "healthy" limit as far as sugary drinks go.
Hey every once in awhile you need a little shit faced in your life PS I just made myself another Hendricks now.
This argument comes up every couple decades it seems. Try to live as a healthy human with absolutely no sugar in your diet. Yeah, didn't think so.
Did you not read what I wrote audio? I freely admit to eating sugar often above^^^^ Nowadays not as much. Also I know how alcohol is made. But guess what? I'm in a gym 4-5 times a week, not overweight and eat my fruits and veggies also.
I been reading that diet coke is also not good for you. i've been addicted to the stuff, but recently i hit a wall where it seems my body is starting to reject it. so i'm drinking a lot more water now. I can drink more water than diet coke so i'm more hydrated and I think i feel better. i'm also getting to bed earlier.
I was agreeing with you. I didn't have caffeine for a good 6 years or so. I felt amazing during it, I went to bed earlier, got up not feeling tired etc. However, there are tons of studies that some caffeine each day in your diet is good for you. I also drank a ton of sugary beverages while not having caffeine. I drink tons of water. However in highschool I drank 2-3 cans of mountain dew a day while at school. I also ate half decently (tons of cookies) swam ran and my parents forced me to be outside. The whole argghhhs oh nose soda kills! Is so false it hurts. Its a lifestyle, not one single issue.
Oh sorry I didn't know you were agreeing with me! Damn internet, funny enough I was just watching Frontline: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/digitalnation/ About how most interaction these days is virtual and online. Sometimes it's hard to know when someone agrees with you. Anyhow... I was alo listening to NPR On Point with Tom Ashbrook this morning: http://onpoint.wbur.org/2012/06/20/bacteria-2 Didn't hear the whole thing in the car, but the segment was about microbes and how it is beneficial to allow your children to basically be kids. Roll around, get dirty, put things in their mouth. It has benefit, as it often allows good bacteria to get into our bodies and build immunities. And how often parents are way to over-protective with hand sanitizer, anti-biotics etc. Personally I never get sick, and never take anti-biotics, never go to the doctor- unless it was an emergency. I often think of how absolutely filthy I was as a child playing in the dirt etc etc. My overall point being- that as a society on a whole we are way to over-reactive to things based on a 'reports'. Everything and anything in moderation, let your body do some work inside and out.
