I was pretty impressed with RN74, even though I just stayed for appetizers in the bar. I hear alot of good things about it.
So I spent the evening attending a panel discussion w/ my friend at the Kabuki. It was The Way We Eat Now with (L to R) Frank Bruni, Traci Des Jardins, Thomas Keller, Michael Mina & Kim Severson. It was definitely interesting to hear what each chef had to say about food in SF vs the rest of the country and how things have changed and are changing. And when I found out there was a book signing after the event, I called Alex to let him know that. Look at this ultimate TK fanboy in line. This is what Alex was staring at. I think he was a bit jealous and disgusted with that group of girls getting so close to TK. I need a haircut. And I'm not sure what's up w/ Alex. I wonder how long it took for TK to perfect his script.
They should have had TK sit someplace with better lighting! His sig looks a whole lot better using that fountain style pen than a regular one.
You need a real haircut and a proper job soldier! Alex looks like he's either just shat himself or TK's squeezing his ass but he's too polite to give the dude a right hook!
I thought they were both squeezing Alex's ass. But TK is playing it cool while Joe can't help but smirk.
hahah. that's awesome. Alex, you should have asked Keller to get you back on that forum you were banned from
How do you get banned from a gastronomical forum? Did Alex start a food fight? BTW one of youz guyz should post about this at Food Bloggers Suck.
I was waiting for Kirkland to move the URL to this: http://foodbloggerssuck.blogspot.com/ But since he hasn't and I just did it, I'll start posting stuff up. And @ youz guyz.
TK grabbed me tight. I felt awkward. No joke. Face says it all. I was stoked though. I was number 1 in line. This was actually my second time through. Also with the exception of Joe and I. There were no males under the age of 35 there. I, of course, was not complaining.
pretty sure it might have been said in here, but i'd say try boiling crab in san jose. we've been there 3 times now, and take the long route through san jose to get to s.f everytime we go just for the food! from our trip yesterday... this one king crab leg had to weigh half of the pound i ordered!
COCHON 555: 5 Chefs, 5 Pigs, 5 Winemakers http://www.localwineevents.com/events/d ... ional-tour Who wants to go?
did you get some chili to go?! if you did, i'll be over tonight! btw, i prefer the hotdog over the burger, not that the burger is a slouch or anything. chili cheese dog, chili cheese fries, diet coke. can't wait to go back to see tommy's... i mean, my family.
Tried Pizzeria Delfinas today. http://www.pizzeriadelfina.com/ http://www.yelp.com/biz/pizzeria-delfin ... rancisco-3 They've got two locations. Went to the one in Fillmore. The other one is in the Mission. Started w/ the Il Cuore di Scuro Salad (Tuna Heart, escarole, panna, breadcrumbs & lemon oil). This is their version of a caesar salad. Not bad. But $9 for just this? Tried the Pig's Ears w/ Lime & Chili Oil. Always <3 crispy fried pork parts. The chili oil gave it a nice kick. I'd recommend ordering this. Tasted like chicharones. As for the pizzas, we got: Carbonara Pizza (Scallions, guanciale, 1 farm egg, pecorino, black pepper). This sounded like it'd be great. Overall, it wasn't bad. I like their thin crust. But for some reason, the pizza was just bland. Had no real distinct taste besides I guess a creamy egg flavor? Wish the guanciale was more pronounced like normal bacon. Maybe my taste buds were still craving more pig's ears. Second pizza we got was the Salsiccia Pizza (Housemade fennel sausage, tomato, bell peppers, onions, mozzarella). Yet another bland tasting pizza to me today. The thin crust fell apart on this one as it got soaked and soggy quick. I'd try something else next time. Would I go back to Delfina? Sure thing. They have some other stuff I'd like to try. I'm not too sure about the wait though. Recommended? Not by me for pizza.
In other news. Monday, 6/28, 9:30 PM. Alex: I got a spot for you if you want to go. (Pic jacked from TBS)
Joe, you should have told me because my friend Meryl is good friends with Kristin the manager there and we could have had no wait. I wish I could go on monday but I'm saving up for europe. thanks for the offer. Let me know next time! Enjoy it!
