Re: Red Dead Redemption Got the game, started playing the single player option, got as far as the woman on the ranch. Went to shoot the rabbits but the ran away too quick before I figured out how to use the gun, nothing happened, the woman would not say anything so I started riding the horse around but jumped the fence and apparently killed the woman with the hoof of the horse. Now the game is stuck and wont load the saved story at that point (new friends old problems) so I had to delete all the saved info and start again. This sucks, I have no patience I just want to go around killing people not help a farmer!
Re: Red Dead Redemption I so want to play this game right now. I'm playing GTA IV right now just to feed my hunger.
Re: Red Dead Redemption So I ventured in free roam. Was south of the border killing townspeople, stealing guns and horses but then went to the far north to the highest mountains in Tall Trees. Kept getting killed by cougars, found a cave with a treasure in it, got attacked by two redneck players, killed one of their horses, then I killed a BEAR! Does anyone know how to skin a bear? How do I do anything with the carcass?
Re: Red Dead Redemption is it tedious to ride long distances from one place to another? I understand the game is massive and I was one of those guys that just got in a cab in GTA IV cause I was too lazy to drive. unfortunately, there are no cabs in RDR.
Re: Red Dead Redemption in single player, you can either take a free transport system in many of the towns that works like the taxi only you dont see the actual trip or you can make a campfire in the wilderness and choose from there to travel to places travelling so far has not been tedious because you can hunt and shoot people along the way you dont really get penalized with the law when you shoot people in the wild because no one really sees it
Re: Red Dead Redemption Definitely use the transport when you're bored with an area and don't feel like riding for hours. You can scroll through destinations and go just about anywhere on the map. I suggest Manzanita Post up north. Head behind the cabins up those rocks and hit the trail. It will soon be snow covered, but beware as you find that cabin in the woods cougars attack. Once you get past that take the mule (yeah I've not advanced or scored many points so I'm still rocking low end rides) into the mountains, it's pretty cool. Killing people out in the open is fun, once in a blue moon they drop a new gun etc etc. In towns you better have the escape planned on horse back as I've only out ran the police once in this game. Quitting for the night my eyes are fried.
Re: Red Dead Redemption So it looks like for the most part the free roam issues have been fixed: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/a ... te.article I noticed I could actually play online and not have it freeze every 15 minutes. I had fun joining a posse and going on missions. Anyone wanna form a posse? Lixx68 is my ps3 id.
Re: Red Dead Redemption This is the perfect game for people who find it hard to focus on a mission. People like me I set my waypoint, and my magical journey started, forgetting to go to the waypoint instant, lol. Killing everything in sight, skinning it afterwards. Using my lasso to take down the good guys and getting a pretty black horse for killing lots and lots of people. The special shooting ability rocks like hell. It makes shooting limbs easy
Re: Red Dead Redemption Just ordered it for the XBOX, couldn't resist. I like GTA's gameplay (sandbox + violence) but I'm not into the whole inner-city thing. This seems way cooler. Death Hugs on XBOX Live for anyone playing there.
Re: Red Dead Redemption Cool I'll add you and the loaf once I pry the controls away from my girlfriend. I gave her the controller when I took a bathroom break and for the last two days it's been hell getting it from her. I know how to do the private online game and invite friends.
Re: Red Dead Redemption So addicting when it's working. Not as bad as when I first got on, but still get freeze moments that seem to happen a few times in a row. I have a PS3 and it always happens in Cholla Springs, Macfarlane Ranch, Gaptooth Ridge on free roam. So far my favorite thing to do is ride around my horse being a roadside bandit in Mexico. I usually ignore the game match invites (I will accept posse invites to a gang hideouts or all out war with another posse though). Normally I just keep practicing killing innocent road travelers and getting their weapons. Oh and going into mexican towns and killing federales.
Re: Red Dead Redemption ride into the fort to the far east edge of mexico. night time is easier to start some trouble there cannons!
Re: Red Dead Redemption My friend 3po found that while I was watching him (hey isn't this game even fun to watch as a spectator?), he also found a gatling there. The cannon was a ton o' fun though. Really has some range. Crap I just had to get off freeze issues
Re: Red Dead Redemption My game arrives today.. Getting ready. Lets see if this game can make me forget MW2 tonight.
Re: Red Dead Redemption my ps3 id will be marswillrule whenever I get around to actually getting time to play.
Re: Red Dead Redemption crap... need to figure out how to hook up the wireless on my PS3 I tried before and it couldn't connect. I don't broadcast my SSID. Is that a problem with the PS3?
