It's disgusting some folks whom are a quarter of his age are called Legendary.

This guy was the real deal, hardcore to the bone. He kept touring and playing live shows to afford his medication and treatments.

I doubt many folks nowadays care or are even familiar with his music outside of Pulp Fiction but if you want to hear actual good music, look up his works, not a bad tune in the entire catalog.

    Few others can say that.

Thanks Dick, for so many reasons.

    Rest in Peace.

This is sad news to hear. You are not even slightly exaggerating to use the term 'legend' for someone like Dick Dale. Sadly, few probably knew his name, which is a real shame. With decades of continual mastery of music, his output could always be counted upon to be of utmost quality and pure joy. This was someone who was a musician through and through; not just accepting a career to make it big or amass a stack of cash. I can't even measure the number of hours I spent grinding away to his music. Thank you Mr. Monsour for all the incredible memories, may your legacy go on to touch and inspire many future generations.

A true legend. I was just reading about his passing. It mentioned how Fender had to create an amp for him because he kept blowing up the standard amp of the day. He was shredding before anybody new wtf shredding was.

I saw him play maybe 5-10 years ago? He was amazing, much more energetic than musicians a third of his age. Godspeed.

He lived in Florida, toured constantly, and created mile-wide smiles every step of the way through countless decades. Rest In Power "The King of the Surf Guitar".
