This grody Good Head Goon just showed up on my doorstep today- The Spectral Frog by our own @animator !!! It’s pretty damn cool- I went for the classic grody body, but I look forward to seeing if any other skullbrainers grabbed one and what they got! Plus I know David has some stuff up his sleeve for the future under the SHT name, so I think it’s fitting he get a thread here! Bonus side shot: Great color choice btw- I can’t wait to see it under the black light!
Having had the pleasure of painting one of these on the Hooligan body I can say it’s a fun well thought out design and I’m looking forward to everything David has coming.
Thanks guys! I'll be sure to update this thread with stuff I have going on. Kappa Briner, Spectral Frog, all things Secret Handshake Toys. Kappa Briner 1st release is planned for this Friday. Sorry for the mass photo dump, they can also be seen on my IG. Kappa Briner: Spectral Frog:
Absolutely love these, great work David! Not checking in with instagram stuff I really appreciate you (and others) posting this sort of great toy coverage here. Such a great project. I look forward to more share to see what other SBers got, and the coming releases.
I made 2 Tokyo Kappas for Kaiju Cult in Atlanta earlier this month, and will have the 2nd Kappa Briner release in October. A handful will be going to Bwana's GAMJAM on October 7th. It should be fun hanging out in Portland. The main part of the release will be later in October. Spoiler
I have seen so much good stuff getting prepped for GamJam - it is going to be absolutely amazing - but these are a real highlight. I am absolutely in love with that first pair of 'cuber riders. Some very lucky folks are going to have these Kappa cruisers racing (or maybe lollying at a leisurely pace?) all over their homes.
Gam Jam is over, but I wasn’t there; how was the turn out? Did anyone here pick up any Kappas? I saw some pics of what @animator was bringing, but I wanna see haul pics! Incidentally, I’m lucky enough to have this little guy in my collection now…
I love the kappa is so simple and charming. In a world full of those trying to be the next ugly controversially thing..this is so simple and so great.
The legs were meant as an homage to the crouching zag tanks. Something fun, but also an awkward bit you'll probably put in a drawer with headers or other extra toy parts.
Kiddo has been into Busy town / Richard Scary books lately. He saw this on my phone, and told me how he wants one! He was also confused who was driving the pickle car, haha. Pretty rad (for us) as he's got mixed receptive expressive disorder so it's not often he communicates clearly with us at the moment.
Slight photo dump....some old, some new. Halloween Micro Run will drop on my IG on Monday. Some stuff I took to GAMJAM in Portland...all is gone. I made 5 customs, here are 2 of them. Bwana gave me permission to paint some Randall drivers for the event. They can all be seen on my IG. Mixed Parts...I have light blue and orange vinyl now!
Amazing colours, love those Halloween guys. And man, the mixed blanks. These delightful driving duders from David keep on delivering. Keep up the fantastic work, man!
