2 Jan was the 45th birthday of UltraQ. In celebration there was a one day UltraQ movies screening at a Ginza cinema. A trip down memory lane for many kaiju lovers. http://www.humax-cinema.co.jp/cinema/special/meigaza/meigaza_comingsoon2.html in conjunction with the event, M1 released an event exclusive Gomess which was based on the old Marusan model with movable tail. Needless to say, it is a neat figure. U can see the figure from the M1 site, but what u cannot see is the cool flyer that comes with the figure. It contains a run down on all the ultraQ figures, very nice!

This Baltan came out of the lucky bags sold by m1 at the last Wonderfestival. I thought it was just an unpainted version of the sparker color Baltan 2, but the arms use completely different sculpt! The M1 Baltan 2 has much chunkier arms that are held tighter to the body; these are more like the vintage Bullmark Baltan 1 arms. M1 hasn't released a Baltan in quite some time... I wonder if this will be a running retool. Crap... I bet the brown Baltan from the lucky bag also had the new arms. I wonder- did anyone else pick up the blanks from this year's lucky bag? Any other retools?
Keen observation, akum6n! Hope M1go will have a painted version of this, or is there any out already?
Oh, totally weird! I love it. At first, I thought it was some kind of repro of the vintage Bullmark Baltan 1...with those distinctive arms. I really dig this...
Man, I really need a Baltan. The M1 sculpt is great, but for some reason I'm leaning more towards the Bullmark... maybe I'll get the vintage for display and snag the M1 for cheap to play with. Such a good character design.
