Crazy amount of work this must be. Swiped from Plastic and Plush - "After approximately 250+ hours of sculpting, making molds and casting, artist Shun Komatsu has managed to produce one fully painted and complete Skullvox polyurethane resin figure. He plans on producing between 25 and 50 unpainted, DIY white versions of Skullvox in the near future. The assembled figure (the legs, arms and body are cast individually then glued together) is approximately 8.5" in height by 12" wide by 5.5" deep. Each figure is set to include a mini-comic featuring the back story for Skullvox, and possibly some other bonus items"
Seriously awesome piece. Airbubbles must be a I FART A LOT. And Prometheum5; the material has nothing to do with its play value, only the sculpt/concept.
Don't get me wrong, I understand that resin figures can have articulation and everything, but I've built alot of resin model kits, and you just can't handle it as much... vinyl is such a rugged material that you can knock it around and bend it a bit without breaking and really handle it all the time, whereas resin stuff has to be handled earnestly and with care. I do not handle my M1 kaiju with care.
I sure hope he made a cast of a skull to make all those for the original...if not my hat's off to him. Amazing tho, I would like to get my hands on one. I will take your M1s into protective custody...hopefully they're not too traumatized by your manhandling
This is ridiculous, how cool can you make a toy??? I love it. I want to see cartoons and t-shirts made of this figure!!!!
