That is so bizarre. Sure there are a very small corner of us (which is saying a lot for this niche market) that recognise how much TG toys have skyrocketed in price over the last few years (for certain reasons), but surely - I mean, surely - even that is only run by diehard fans who respect the man himself and his work. It is so far from the world of hype and IG fanbase (at least as far as I am aware) that this is completely bonkers to me. It is like someone coming along and bootlegging the Hyve playset. In any case, I find this particularly insulting, far more than I do of anything in the realm of NNN, HxS, etc., meaning no offense to those makers; but come on, this is truly sad.

Everytime I see this up I report it and get it removed. He stopped listing it for about a year, most likely thinking I’d forget. Which I’m sure I would have if Ebay didn’t send newly listed toygraph notifications to my email.

I don’t know if anyone else here has seen the quality of these in person, but when I popped the head off one to look inside, it looked and smelled like black tire rubber.

I do not own any nags so I have no idea of how tall they are. does this image mean that bigger nags have been created? or does it mean that the bootleg nags that came out were smaller than the original? for some reason the nags always looked tall(taller than 10 inches) to me. maybe it is because of the big head.

also this came up on ig today.

Hmmm I was thinking the reverse, for whatever reason this chump couldn't get his hands on the 11 inch version so he scanned and blew up the OG nag and produced vinyl molds from that. Looks like that's the case because the feet on the GID blank look so fucked and don't sit flush on the flat surface. Truly diabolical to bootleg someone's toy but in a larger size.

Never had a real nag so couldn’t tell ya... maybe frank mysterio would measure how tall the one he painted was... since we know that’s a fake.

He said it’s 11” exact replica.

Yeah definite fake 3D scanned blown up version - that style of nag is about 8.5 inches if it's legit ***legit check***

I've reported bootlegs and fakes to eBay on multiple occasions and not a single one was ever removed. Adding insult to injury, I've had a handful of things removed from my own sales that were not bootlegs or fakes  :?

eBay is the filthy, syphilis ridden toilet of the Internet. Next to Skullbrain, of course

Anybody been watching Silicon Valley? Seems like the second half of this latest season will be centred around a plot where the Pied Piper programmers

work is stolen and bootlegged for the Chinese market. I never even considered apps/game development to be a target but apparently it's a pretty common thing as well. Some popular games with paid ads etc have had the bootleg versions surpass the OG release because the copied versions are released without paid content.

I still struggle with the mentality behind all of this shit.. but I guess there's always those kids in class who don't want to put in real work and just want to copy off of the kid sitting next to them.

Unless there's a figure that you can get for free, but also "upgrade" by buying bigger rotting zombie cocks or whatever, that analogy doesn't really work. At all. But hey, those lazy Chinese!!

The details about in-app purchases etc. was just a little side note... the point here is that even digital properties are being swiped in addition to physical goods like streetwear and toys. Thought it was interesting.. and of course it's interesting enough that Mike Judge/HBO are using the phenomenon as a major plot point. But yeah @bunnyboy you've really got rotting zombie dicks on your mind a lot.. might wanna go outside for a walk or something..

There's a shitload of exact copies of League of Legends in Asia. Some kid dying of cancer in China spent all of the money his mom had saved for his treatment on it, and it's been dubbed "mobile heroin." They do have a lot of bootleg games there, that's a fact, but I think a part of the problem is the lengthy process of licensing and the amount of negotiation it entails.

Apparently Kenner never made a version of Boba-Fett that fired a rocket. ;)

When an original Kenner employee was shown one of the bootleg ones they thought it was legit. The bootleg ones were financed by a couple of guys in England and made in Hong Kong. Over the years many of them have appeared on eBay etc.

My point, was sometimes a well thought out and produced replication can sometimes be hard to differentiate from an authentic item. Another example would be Misfits 45's that were painstakingly reproduced in Japan in 1986.

    Sorry no voight kampff testing!

I'm no Nag expert, but wasn't there a bigger official Nag release?

Do you have a link or something for this? Mark Poon in Singapore is the one who makes the rocket Fett repros on eBay but I can't understand how they could be mistaken for the real thing.

I read something about that too. Didn’t it happen at a show?

There are some other factors to consider too, such as the current age of this ex-Kenner employee and when the last time was when he / she saw an original. Those Kenner Bobas were created quite a long time ago now.

Two things are for sure tho, the material had to have the same feel as an og and it had to be made with some damn fine precision.

Google’s your friend, @Roger ... For now... [foreshadowing the robot apocalypse]
