Worship and Tribute holds a special place in my heart. I think it's my favorite record by them with EYEWTKAS right behind.
@nicholasfung Pretty special band, so I’m not at all surprised! I’d never heard of them until I picked up an issue of Metal Edge Magazine. It had yearly articles highlighting bands featured on OZZfest, which I was frequenting at the time(early 2000’s) and I remember reading about Glassjaw and the name sticking. Daryl’s stage presence really sold me. The whole band went nuts, but Daryl was such a focal point. Been a fan ever since!
HELL YEAH! Growing up in the scene on Long Island, they were pretty unavoidable. They have the simplest and best logo.
@nicholasfung I think I liked EYEWTKAS better than Worship and Tribute because of tracks like "Ry Ry's Song" and "Piano", but it is still a solid album. I was listening to this when I graduated college and was in the master's program. I haven't listened to the newer stuff since though.
EYEWTKAS was the album that got me into Glassjaw with "Piano", "Pretty Lush" and "Siberian Kiss" being my favorites. I think Worship and Tribute has more replay value and as a follow up to EYEWTKAS, it blew away my expectations. I didn't have the attitude like, "Wow, they changed their sound so drastically." I think their new albums post W&T are decent, but they never stuck with me. I'm good on the first two full lengths, lol.
Tickets acquired. Time to reminisce! . . . 'I hear the sons of the city and dispossessed Get down, get undressed' Priceless!
