    Still wrong; it's you're. I don't get why people can't type/speak correctly.

what's really funny is that i've used that a number a times in the past seven months & this is first time anyone said anything. it's cool though, i was just telling my wife that i seemed to have escaped much of the hazing. hazing and pointers on my poor grammar. it's a win-win

Fes, I am not sure if you are trying to be funny, but really, it just comes off like five year old, as it is old news to everyone else here.

Evom, as an FYI, I am sure another board member would have picked up the Leecifer figure from you for what you paid for it. To just instantly drop it on the bay for a markup just shows that you want to profit off of it instead of collect it. If you drop it on ebay for a markup, expect the same reciprocal treatment from other board members when you miss something. It is up to you how you want to play it, but if you help your friends, your friends will help you. If you fuck over your friends, your friends will fuck you over. (besides you had the bills before the lucky bag showed up.) Take a gandar at the flipping thread when you have a chance.

    Ouch!

Uh, just out of curiosity, where is the Flipping Thread?

While I agree wholeheartedly with everything Mr. Flynn said (I like trading myself), the only thing I've found about flipping is under the For Sale Forum Rules, which read:

    2) NO FLIPPING - If you want to get five times what you paid for a figure that was released last week, go to ebay.

That's what the man did, so I'm assuming there is more about flipping somewhere else?

Not trying to be a smart guy, just looking for more information... :?

Posted elsewhere but just for non SSSS n00bs . . .

There used to be a thread of 'unwritten rules' but just to clarify . . . .

No inane +1 kinda posts (post counts means squat - a douche is a douche whether he has 1 post or 10,0000), no B-U-M-P-ing threads, no flipping shit that you bought yesterday for stupid $$$, no 'make me an offer' shenanigans, no posting live auctions, no emo bullshit because you didn't score the latest 'must have', no lists, no 'PM sent' (the recipient receives notification and no one else gives a shit), no sob story's, no scamming!

The use of 'dope', 'OMG', 'hawtness', 'the shizzle' and other meaningless KR'isms suck balls too . . . use a fuckin' dictionary and expand your vocabulary!!

If you play nice, nice things will happen . . . if someone's looking for sump'n, drop 'em a PM! If you snag a deal on something that don't float your boat, pass on the good deal to someone else (make sure your costs are covered but don't try to re-sell at 200-300% . . . this ain't KR!), hook up other collectors and they'll hook you up. Act like a douche and you will be treated as, and called out . . . it's just the way it is and always has been on SB!

It's not rocket science and collecting this crap is supposed to be fun . . . please don't make it hard work!

A KR phenomenon . . . . a phase of petitioning and showing interest in getting shit made by (insert this weeks hot new artist) . . . I think it worked one time so every other thread from that point on was a pointless list of 'I think X should make Y' . . . when in reality X should have stuck to doing his A, B, C! ;)

    jeez
yea, i was trying to be funny. Or rather, laughing at myself. Really shouldn't go in the internets after a few beers.

I'm new tho, and thought this was a new filter, as i thought i have seen people b ump threads here.

So its pretty obvious that I'm new at this stuff, so yes i didn't even know much about selling on this board. I didn't mean to fuck over anybody. I'm still learning about this game and yes i love collecting , but I'm mainly in it for the art. While I loved the whole bag, I didnt wanto blatantly say that I wasn't feelin' the Lee custom, its great but not really my thing. So i figured (all before i even posted once on this site) why not throw it on the bay , especially since i don't even know you people yet and had no idea about selling here. So my bad, and yeah got bills but i probably shouldn't have even bought the bag but couldn't resist cause S7 is tight. If I wanna instantly sell one because It doesn't appeal to me, then why should that be a problem, even if I am a Fresh Meat and didn't ask you guys first. But I do apologize.

^^ someone definitely would have purchased the Lee custom here. Throwing on the bay was just a dooshy move. you could have gotten the same price here (or even more due to having a Bigger following on a super 7 message board) Its common sense that what you did was just doosh baggery

    Live and learn!

I can't speak for Mr. Flynn, but know that there's been some anxiety among the "old timers" about the current influx of new members and some of the associated events here. So if some of the OGs seem a little cranky, don't take it too personally, but don't tune them out, either. :)

More Skullbrainers (i.e. more collectors) is a good thing. However this is a unique board with a history of consensus about the right and wrong way to do things. Some of the wacky things going on these days are just "growing pains" as I see it. At the end of the day we all love the toys and n00bs will eventually "get it."

What I'm getting at is that you guys should probably take Flynn's admonishment as encouragement to stay in the game more than some sort of slap down. It was cool of EVOM to offer an apology and I'm sure it was sincere. Again, people just don't want to see this board become an approximation of certain other boards, and by extension, want to keep the buying/selling aspect as cool as possible. Toy karma is real!

I couldn't afford a S7 lucky bag this year (damn!) but am totally enjoying seeing what people got. S7 is on a real roll. Keep posting your LB photos, folks.

That is, after reading those links that locomoto posted. ;)

    EVOM, Fes, welcome to Skullbrain....!

It can be hard to be a new guy rounds these parts, but I have empathy for you. the old-timers may wince with the influx of newbies, but hang out, get a sense of what Skullbrain is about and how other members carry themselves and you will be fine.

it was only a few short years ago when I got a heavy does of newbie hazing. most of it possibly deserved, but I felt I was just enthusiastic for the hobby.

    Collecting isn't a "game".
    It's a way of life.

I still think the newbies should get an email or initial pm welcome message with the list of unwritten rules. That or maybe they have to click "agree" (kind of like every time I upgrade iTunes- the disclaimer) before they do their first post? Then again no one reads the fine print and there would be no call outs which can be fun. ;)
