At the auction say reprin, but I do not think anyone will pay that much for a repro.
Went for: 229,600 yen

 

Yonezawa Fu swing Soft Vinyl Monster (wind-up toy) sold for 182,000 JPY:

 

It is currently at 226,000 JPY and climbing. Two guys are in a bidding war bidding the minimum bid at the last minute causing an extension. They have extended the auction at least 2 1/2 hours.

 

Wow that is a grail for sure (Yonezawa Nodder). So glad Zollmen did a reissue a few years back so I can at least hold one (albeit without any wind up features).

 

Finally ended at 250,000 JPY.

Toy angel recently alerted me to this Nitto Guiron auction. Good to see that the seller was knowledgeable enough to point out that the front of the figure and teeth had been repainted...





Nice toy, but terrible repaint. For comparison, here is the Marusan Guiron I adopted on JYA last year. They look very similar...



I would've taken detailed pics of the teeth, but I've been marooned at the office all week, and the toy drying cabinet at the office is locked, and the key is at home

 

Bullmark Soft Vinyl Godzilla (metallic green/gold spray Hawaiian) sold for 154,000 JPY:



I submitted a decent bid for this rare toy, but the price ended up going pretty high, even with some minor ink marks on the feet and paint wear. It still has a stunning look though in almost any condition:

I like that you can see perfectly the silver color of the eye, because in other pieces it can be a lighter shade more similar to white.

BULLMARK Burumaaku of Monster Series Red King Soft Vinyl dead stock
Wen for: 510,000 yen

 

Holy hell that middle Red King is gorgeous. But 5K is pure insanity, even if it is the mintiest of dead stock. Those paints are beautiful though.

The most incredible vintage Bullmark catalog I have ever seen went for 70K JPY:



This one is going to haunt my dreams for years:

 

You know I own a plethora of vintage japanese toy books which feature a heck of a lot of Bullmark (including Sato's collection book) and of course you can always visit Club Tokyo, but I'm really suprised no one has taken the time to make a book which features every single Bullmark toy ever made. That's a book I'd buy in a heartbeat, especially if it catalogued just like it is above^^^.

I know there is another Bullmark book out there- put out in the last decade maybe called "The Bullmark Story" but I don't own it. Maybe someone could shed light if it features all the toys they made?

 

^Chris, I own the Bullmark History book which is a beautifully rendered coffee table/reference book, but it's FAR from complete. Is there another Bullmark book out there that was more recently released? If so I want it .

EDIT: Didn't Yuji have some book for sale within the last year or two at a festival in Japan?

 

@Michael Beverage the book I own is called "Beautiful Book Of Monsters" came out several years ago and there was a thread here but the search engine on this site sucks (or it's titled something weird I can't remember). I know it's on here somewhere as we were talking about it.

 

While we're on the subject of books, Sean Linkenback said he is currently updating his Unauthorized Guide to Godzilla Collectibles book...it will be great to see an updated version of that work in the next few years hopefully.

 

Interesting. So remember that Bandai Giant Thundermask mask that sold for $600 a few pages back? Page 98 Well yesterday while checking out YJA Thundermask I saw someone had posted an auction for a clay sculpt mold they made from more than likely that mask (or someone who watched that auction trying to cash in) for 32000 yen?! Such an obvious money grab. This hobby sucks so much anymore.

 

Time thing Ultraman ST450 size Bullmark Marsan
Went for: 32,500 yen
To the naked eye it is a figure that has nothing strange or spectacular, but if you look carefully you can still see traces of the SAN logo on the left foot of the figure.

 

Official reproduction copy print of the original artwork went for 32,500. Release for an event in 2007. Such beautiful artwork.
