Skullbrainers seem to treat music in the same way that we collect toys - always on the hunt for obscure sounds that speak to us. Hopefully some of you can help me out - I'm looking for some instrumental (ie non-offensive: no lyrics = no complaints) pleasant music to listen to while I'm at work in an art gallery. Something other than jazz/classical which are the go-to genres pre-loaded onto the supplied ipod. Something like BEach House I guess could be an exception - I doubt many people could find those sweet shoegazy sounds offensive. I'm making a playlist and so far I have albums by these guys but I would love to add more similar music to the mix.. any suggestions?
Was not able to find any of The Faint's music without lyrics, but Danse Macbre would be a cool listen. This is who I thought of next; Russian Circles
Haha @IronPaw I dig Russian Circles but I would get fired for sure playing that in an art museum Tortoise is definitely a good choice @SPACED - adding them to the playlist now. Thanks for the suggestions! Keep em comin'
Well since you mentioned it. Personal favs i'd play at the office. No harm adding early Beach House while at it
I like to think about these albums keeping soft vinyl company: Neu! - Neu! '75 -- 1975 Nuno Canavarro - Plux Quba -- 1988 Company Flow - Little Johnny from the Hospitul: Breaks & Instrumentals Vol.1 -- 1999 Dymaxion - DYMAXION x 4 + 3 = 38'33 -- 2000 Madlib - Shades of Blue -- 2003 'Praps you will, too.
