has anyone seen this? here are some comments about his rejected show for the showtime's master of horror show. "The final entry of the series, Takeshi Miike's Imprint was banned from American TV. I can see why it was banned - Miike is still refusing to back down and STILL has a total disregard for limitations on what he is allowed to show on film (i think this is the first time iv seen an abortion in a movie). Miike retains some of usual themes (its nice to see his obsession for torture with needles is still there! VERY nasty scene!) and the haunting atmosphere throughout and some of the events are very reminiscent of Gozu - probably his best film!" This episode is VERY gory. If you know you cant take brutal violence and gore, dont get this one. There is a reason for it being banned on US tv."
I was waiting for that one to show ever since I first heard rumor of it! Do you happen to know if it will show up on the DVD releases? Or is this something Showtime is going to be a humongous jerk about until Miike edits it? I, for one, hope he continues to stand up for it. I also don't understand this situation, as Showtime is a premium cable service (which grants it certain freedoms for content) and MoH always shows late at night (which grants further freedoms of content under FCC regs, AFAIK). Why are they all upset? Didn't the Sho bosses know what they were getting into with Miike?
It is showing up uncut on DVD for sure. Showtime aren't going to cut it, but it's too strong for them to show on TV. They aren't jerks, just pussies.
And people wonder why DVD consumption & torrent activity is up while other media is running down a bit... What's the surest way to get people to download and file swap? Censor something.
