Don't worry. With the way that I snore, I should probably sleep in the bathtub anyways. Are you getting any new work this weekend?
I hope not. I went a little crazy this year, getting tattooed more often in 2011 than I did the previous four or five years. I want to let my body rest a little bit. That said... who knows.
No just drinking beers causing trouble , I'm supposed to be getting tattooed by Richard stell buthave not gotten a comfirmation
his wife had some problems with their calendar and wants folks who were booked to get in contact asap. She's Jennifer Stell on Facebook, can be found on Last Sparrow Tattoo and probably via Stell's website.
We put it off till the 29th. It started off pretty simple then we started talking and it kept expanding... better to do at the shop.
Looks like the wife and I are getting tattooed by Todd Noble when he comes to Cambridge in a few weeks!
Sorry, but I know for a fact that sailor jerry was a super racist. If I was you I would just say it's a tattoo, and that's all.
Look I'm not rolling deep with any Hammerskins or white power tattoos. I've never heard anything about him being a racist, a jerk yes, but not a racist and I worked in a shop for years. I need some pretty tough proof of that before I believe it. Even if he was it's not like I have his portrait tattooed. I mean I've HEARD Sean Connery is apparently a super prick but he was still the best Bond am I right or am I right? It's a Sailor Jerry piece under my arm, not just a tattoo, kthnxbai.
He's honouring the artist not what he stood for, whatever that may have been, I have 2 sailor jerry tattoo's behind my ears, I have them because I like the artwork and he changed the whole face of tattooing. I don't under stand your point.
Well, a friend of mine was Horiyoshi's student for a couple of years, at his studio on japan. He (Horiyoshi) knew bouth sailor jerry and ed hardy, from way back when, and that is how I know sailor jerry is a racist.
Sailor Jerry was a racist, so was Von Dutch. Just because they were doesn't change what they did to their perspective art form. Not acknowledging the piece as a Sailor Jerry tattoo wouldn't change that, and many of us would still recognize it for being so. Weren't you just being a homophobe earlier on the board Rune?
Because I find hypocrisy annoying, and I find your tone to be so condescending in a discussion about the tattoo to not even care about your opinion. If it had been a swastika tattoo or something I could find some reason for a discussion but, as for the great work that was shown, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't. There is a thread somewhere, or even in this thread, about the Sailor Jerry doc and a discussion was had about his racism, homophobia etc.
Yeah, about the mentality I expected to see. Very productive addition to the discussion. There is a way to say, oh I have issues with Sailor Jerry, and another way to just come across as a child. Congratulations.
Well this just got way outta hand, everyone cool their jets. All I'm saying is if everyone had to do a background check on everything they enjoy, well life would kinda suck. I'm sure there are musicians, artist, writers we all enjoy that we don't share the same perspectives on life as we do. I like SJ's artwork and have quite a few and plan on getting more. Now go get tattooed! Jeeeeezzzzzz
I was hoping to finally make some much needed progress on my left arm (I have a bad habit of jumping from piece to piece or starting new ones while others are in progress) but now overtime hit at work so it'll get delayed again...
