>The Beautiful Book of Monsters Part 1 >ISBN 978-4-06-214617-3 >Publisher: Kodansha Does anyone know when Part 2 of this book will be published?
The next book is the robots and die-cast book I believe, and the third book is "everything else" and will be a lot of hero shows and their monsters I think. I know I took over some stuff that was shot for that book......
Brian is correct. The second book will be diecast, but not just robots. Saito's actively searching out pieces now. I have no idea when it's slated for release.
BTW, the first book is incredibly well done. The presentation is incredible. Most of that stuff is lost on me, but I recently went through it with Brian and he pointed out some really cool shit. Most of it was his.. I can only hope the second one is done in the same fashion.. You never know. Saito also promised a full on Takatoku diecast book that never came to light. Fingers crossed.
http://toyboxdx.com/phorum/read.php?4,191316 fantastic story of a guy who got to meet the author of this book .
I know this is a lot to ask, but can someone provide some sort of breakdown on how this is organized? I suspect that its sort of grouped by which Ultraman show each character is from, but beyond that, which toys are from which manufacturers, and which ones are the larger sized ones as opposed to the standard sized toys? I'd love to be able to use this book for more than just eye candy, but also as a reference book. Thanks in advance.
I'll have to look when I get home, but I believe it's chaptered by manufacturer, then by year in that chapter.
Was surprised to see some things I'd never seen before.... particularly the selection of minis. After a while these books become reiterations of upteen preceding books, right down to the shot against black background look.
i had the great fortune of seeing saito s collection . this was the first time i had seen a lenzari in person . spacemonkey , i did see the wolf vinyl with the sombrero in nakano but the price was 56000 yen .
I hope number 2 is as good as number 1. Probably my favorite vinyl book to date. High quality photos that focus on the toys themselves and some stylized graphic arts.
So I wonder how long till book 3 comes out then... nothing against U-man & Godzilla but everything else gets the short shrift.
