Can someone verify whether there is a whole row of Clear Brian Flynn Visighosts with innards! Along the back of that case the Cosmo alpha knight store? Or am I simply seeing things in the picture below. I have taken this image from Kirklands video of their Japan trip http://toybotstudios.blogspot.com/ Thanks for the great photos of all the cool places and characters (both vinyl and flesh) Kirkland. I always love checking out your blog. edit: on closer inspection, I dont think they are (too tall) but what are they?
not to derail, but look at the shelf below. jebus..barom 1 craziness...i hope that's a NFS shelf because I would hate to see the pricetags on those figures.
Not sure but I think they might be clear bowling pins (plastic) with mini Bullmarks inside. I saw a set a while ago on YJA but the pins seemed different. Also the one behind and to the right (as we look at it) of the mini RainbowMan looks like Hedora, He was not in the set I saw. They were all from Return of Ultraman. Plus there are 10 of them. Watched the video. Too bad there is not a good shot of all the vintage dinos including a Marushin mammoth. This was probably my favorite store when I visited last year but soo much of it is NFS.
thanks for the kind words Germs! apologize for the tricky camera work. hard to focus with so many wonderful toys to look at in a tiny store that hardly holds two people. It was really cool trip to that store though... thanks for taking us Brian.
we saw an unopened large frankenruge at a different shop for about 2K. looking at it actually caused physical pain.
CKA is a damn cool store. Me, Sjoen and another buddy BARELY fit in the shop. Then, a little old Japanese lady who wanted to look at the toys tried to squeeze in with the big gaijin!
Just learned about this place, and I can't wait to check it out. It's okay though, I am plenty small And judging from what pics I have seen, even with shelves of NFS items, there are still plenty of highly awesome figures available. Incidentally, I have seen the Barom-1 vintage, and yes, mind-blowing just about sums it up
he was was cool when we were there. playful actually if you watch the vid. but i suppose he can get grumpy if you continue to ask to buy stuff that has a NFS sign on the cabinet. bert, i got that Mazinger vinyl set here for $60. hahahaahaaha
He didn't have it when I was there. I got half the set (at half the price) at Ichiban Boshi...along with some other goodies
Don't mention the word Bemon and have ICANHASCHEEZBURGER loaded on your cell phone and you'll be in great shape.
Just so I can make sure I have enough room in my baggage, what is the cat to kaiju exchange rate these days? If I make the trip there, I know I can't leave any of those Barom-1s behind.
The biggest mystery is why the CKA site is blocked by AT&T. I had no problem when I was on cable w/ Comcast but can't see shit using DSL w/ AT&T.
Curious has the CKA site been down for awhile?: http://www.sofvi.com/blog/ Safari can't find server and Firefox says "we're having trouble finding that site"- I'm on the aforementioned Comcast. Was working a few months ago. Same thing with my phone's wifi turned off (so it won't use my home connection).
A lot of this old timers are all instagram these days. Photo hosting sites are dead/ aka Flickr is dead/threads are dead. I'm assuming all facebook/instagram etc. Social media is the rage.
Actually, a lot of 'old timers' still do not even internet, some I know of do not even have cell phones. Yoda just forgot to pay annual hosting fee. Nothing more to it than that.
