I would love to see a book coming out of this thread!
With two alternative covers to choose from, one stating something like The Very Best of Sofubi, the other 'When good sofubi goes bad!'.

I would go with the first one.

With work organically slowing down, I'm kinda tempted!

Bootlegging the bootleggers . . . and the tasteless!

Why waste a book on the topic of fugliness? Print it as toilet paper.

Seriously. Sometimes I question why I even visit this thread. Car crash rubber-necking? No need for a keep-sake

I think it’s a mix of rubber-necking, doom-scrolling, and the kind of curiosity that killed the cat.

I too would absolutely buy a book. I’m just imagining an entire section dedicated to Mickey.

I always get pretty uncomfortable seeing semi-realistic children mutilated in some form. Don’t understand why anyone would buy it. It’s kind of hard to explain that too.
“Oh no, I like kids… no, not that way. And no, I would never hurt them! It’s just that I like mutilated kid dolls, okay?!”

Somewhere in the South Pacific there's a floating island that would make a perfect display venue for some of these...

As fugly as a lot of these toys are, a number of them are equal parts just confusing. For instance, that purple one with the three [?] eyes. What is even going on with its head? Are those supposed to be teeth above its eyes? More sets of eyes that just haven't been painted in? I really am not hip enough to understand these designs, I am sure they are obvious [-ly deep and meaningful].

I see that rainbow vomit is still a trend. And I totally agree with you @ultrakaiju , that was my first thought too… forehead teeth!

Also that Dr. Chickeye set with the flat heads, just why? Lack of ability to sculpt a 3D figure? Intentionally flat? Dude was just fuckin lazy? Who really knows at this point.

I really dig the aquatic / mecha monster mashup. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's a well thought out and executed design.

Wow. A lot of variety as always. Forgive an old man, I mean no impertinence nor hurt, BUT: those top two full-prism Toho spinoffs; is Pride Fugly going to be a hot topic for June? I mean, there is very little left for kids to be transgressive rebel haters about. I pity the young designers; it gets harder and harder to shock older generations. "It's a hard world to get a break in, all the good things have been taken..."

@ultrakaiju Interesting, my eyes didn’t registered that purple mess, between those embarrassing Godzilla something (especially embarrassing for me who own one of his first shameless Godzilla ‘inspired’ toy) and the little naked man painted as pikachu.
You’re right though, that little one is most perplexing. Most generic body with most confusing head.

Your diligent digging and consistent posting continue to draw me here. It’s wild out there in the CCP and beyond. A lot of people seem to be decorating for Halloween year round…

Is that swirly skull thing supposed to look like one of the Blue Meanies from Yellow Submarine?
