There's actually tons of muscle bootlegs, I think there was an Italian company that did some muscle bootlegs. I'm sure there's more all over Europe, mexico, Asia etc.

I think that's the 'Exogini' line. I have some, they're cool. Lots of clear ones, some nice colours. The name Exogini is being used for a current toyline of aliens ... no relation as far as I can see after a quick search.

@hellopike Is that a glow Trypticon to the right in that first shot? Please, more of him!

In Japan, the toys that were imported as Battle Beasts in American were originally "Beastformers," a faction of aliens from the Transformers show. They made little SD keshi pencil toppers of them and they had little Cybertron/Destron (Autobot/Decepticon) rubsign stickers. I have no idea if this is a realistic price for these but I don't see them often:

Oh man, I love stuff like that. Last time I went to Gojira-ya they had a bin of deadstock Ultraman keshi that had that magnet gimmick. 100 yen to buy a scoop of them:

I believe it was a kabaya(so) candy toy, it’s a little less squishy than regular keshigomu, more in line with a North American MUSCLE figure. I did know about battle beasts being linked to transformers in the Japanese continuity, but honestly that’s all I really know. I had some battle beasts as a kid (the crab was my favorite) but not many so I don’t have much nostalgia for them.

Awesome, thanks! You should check out some of the Japanese Transformers shows on YouTube, they're nuts.

It is. I can tell it’s based on Popy’s Pro-Wrestle Keshigomu line from the early 80s.

I shipped a 45 lb. box of keshi off to a guy in NJ several years ago and immediately was filled with regret. He wouldn't sell any back, even at a markup. So I started collecting again that very day, just a little more slowly. I still gave some away with sales. But I still can't keep my gundams straight!

Can't remember name. Used to be a video tech/producer, owned all or part of a comic sci/fi bookstore. Did a lot of toy shows. Had a truly huge amount of little rubber guys. May be fairly recently deceased.
