Round Two "All That" sticker, i love all their rip off stickers lol
Congrats on your Buta additions Manny! They are very spiffy!
Some blues... and a Betty
@lavavoom, excellent scores.
Whats the red guy, green chest, 4th from the right in the back called?
What's this one called? and what company? I think it's awesome, It's like a mini Mechadino lobster
@decypher It's the Space Marilla by Target Earth! From what I understand, this figure, and the Bemon Space Monster that preceded it, both came from a pachi finger puppet of unknown origin. These are Longneck reproductions of the vintage versions.
Not exactly unknown just very obscure.
Bemon called it Mayogon and apparently from what I recall the 2 vintage banks were mail away prizes from brand of mayonnaise in the late '70s.
There are a lot of weird food prize toys released in Japan, one of the weirdest is a Microman that is highly sought after today. Stuff like that was produced as a gimmick and not in huge quantity so very scare today.
Back in that era even in the USA cearal premiums were super cool and at the top of the list for me are the glow monster heads from the Post Super Sugar Crisp cereal.
I wish I had more resources for overseas premiums.. most of what I know was shared in person but a nice solid book just featuring that type stuff would be great.
You are a wealth of knowledge, John. I didn't realize that Honda had give the finger puppets their names, as I thought those were the given identities. Pretty cool to know they were prizes similar to what we're accustomed to here in the states with cereal and proof of purchase mail aways!
@decypher, that would be Miclas (Mikurasu). He's one of the Ultra Monsters (Ultraman, Ultraseven, etc). Meaning, like most of the Ultra series' monsters, there are versions by so many sofubi makers out there, that he's an easy toy to come across (most commonly on brown vinyl).
@toothaction has (or had) a beautiful yellow Bullmark repro.
@Fedhai , I like the red body of yours too. And another wonderful haul btw . The drug business is doing you good
... There are people who know a lot more about the Ultra series on here than me, but hopefully that was enough to answer your question, @decypher.
Been picking up a few minis lately.. I've been selling off stuff but the mailman keeps delivering these crazy toys!!
I think I'm picking up that keronga from the post today.
I agree, thanks John.
And yes they do look like finger puppets in the pic but Yoda's repros of the originals are coin banks with the slit in the back. I want to say Yoda has done maybe three colorways for them? Maybe four. Memory is foggy.
I dig em. I wish Yoda would make more mini-size toys.
A mini Yusei Majin or Death Menargo would be so much fun.
mini Death Menargo kind of exists, I have one.
Yeaaah. Ikapokkun I think it's called. I have a clear blue painted Death Menargo with a bunch of cut-up cardboard, tinsel-type material and an Ikapokkun shoved in the belly. Good stuff. It's a great mini. Yoda only did a handful of releases for the sculpt.
Ah, yes! I have seen this one before. In the Longneck thread, even! Some blanks and a painted version have left Mandarake recently. Kinda difficult to gauge the size of it, though.
Charactics and Killer J don't get enough love on this board....Love that root beer vinyl. That's good shit, you cheeseburger-loving Aussie!
you straight up have my favorite taste in toys. thats why i bug you so much
Ha ha. Thanks, Mannie! But my tastes only derive from collectors with greater pallets than my own! But goddamn, do I love these. And they're a great size, too!!!
Still figuring out how to use the site but really glad I found it! Love sofubi and other Japanese style toys, but I have a little of everything in my collection.
Will post better photos, the quality on these suck! Have more toys to photograph as well!
