lol.... somehow, someway my blog is being redirected to http://sopastrike.com/strike This is being done without my permission which I find slightly ironic. Not that I don't support the cause...obviously I do, but I would have preferred that I had the option to blackout my site. I noticed other blogger sites are up and running. I can't find the code in the header either. i'm trying to figure out how this happened.... any ideas?
my website http://www.toysaresanity.com is hosted on tumblr so they asked if we wanted to do it but it wasnt mandatory
first time i checked, the blog came up... then switched automatically a few second later. (there was a bit of code along the top... i can send it to you if you want to view it.) went and checked a second time... and it stayed on the blog.
Same here. If your site was hacked, it appears to be un-hacked now. The only blackout I see is your trademark black background. It does seem strange that anyone supporting that cause would hijack, but then, I've been surprised by some of the self-defeating things that some Occupy folks have done too. Activism is weird these days.
yeah, i saw that code. something to do with youtube widgets? but you tube isn't blacked out either... everytime i go to http://www.toybotstudios.com, it redirects. my domain is now hosted by godaddy.com through blogger so i'm wondering if that's it....
i just want to know what lobbyists came up with the names SOPA/PIPA? my guess: the hispanic pastry conglomerate...
If Wikipedia weren't blacked out we could look that up and then pretend that we already knew the answer. What is that pan dulce con dulce de leche or whatever it is? It looks muy sabroso.
Quit hyping that shit Kirkland! You and I know the link works just fine . . . but man those stats look great for today!
ha... if I wanted to increase my stats, I would say something like "my blog has been hacked by the "Singapore Airlines Stewardess Nudist Association"
Because your browser is infected with a redirect hack/virus? Is nakedness even allowed in Singapore? I'd hate to think that those nice ladies might be caned although some weirdos on this board might enjoy that.
It redirected for me too. I let it sit and fully load in the background while reading posts on here. I looked up at the tab and sure enough...sopa strike.
I checked Toybot Studios blog just now and it's the SOPA Strike site with some code at the top of page:
Speaking of SOPA & PIPA, did everyone write or phone they're representatives/ and or senators? I did.
To my surprise the strike appears to be having a positive effect. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/19/technology/web-protests-piracy-bill-and-2-key-senators-change-course.html?hp Also surprising is that a large number of Republican supporters are backing off ... surprising because as we all know the GOP tends to support overreaching legislation on behalf of industry and corporations, so now we need Democrats like Feinstein to back down. Regardless of party the real problem with this sort of thing is that politicians tend to be very un-savvy regarding internet realities, and are quick to believe anything they're told by organizations like RIAA and MPAA, both of which lie and exaggerate to no end. I strongly believe in an artist's right to be paid and don't generally support piracy, but whatever economic problems the music and movie industries are having are *not* uniquely caused by piracy and illegal downloading. That's a contributing factor, but again, the orgs exaggerate greatly, as they've been doing since the days of "home taping is killing music." Anyway, good luck Kirkland. It's a drag that this is happening to your site without your consent. EDIT: Oh dang, now it's happening when I try to visit toybotstudios, too.
The Democrats are just as squarely in the pocket of hollywood. I'm not going to argue politics, but numerous laws that have been brought up and failed are cross party lines or democrat backed also. The real problem is that the RIAA and MPAA have massive amounts of money and influence. Just look at Dodd.
What's with the "fight for the future" link? Go daddy has part of their site blocked, maybe that's .affecting it? Weird for sure
aha... found the culprit. I had two widgets in the right hand frame that were serving up video thumbnails. deleted them. but SOPA strike is almost over?
