Transforming Macross toy printed at Shapeways.

This guy made his own Valkyrie design in 3D and ordered prints:

that must have cost a fortune.

But then there's the labor involved, not to mention painting, which I'm not sure is even possible with the nylon material being used. I'm sure the experience would really make one empathize with the employees at the factories that make toys for Arcadia, Bandai, etc.

 

maybe, with some surface, it could be painted. Gunpla building is cool as hobby, but i couldn't imagine doing it for a living for little $.

 

Good lord. I used to own a couple of Bandai Valks; this makes me want to get back into it

 

A couple years back when the Macross Delta Valkyries came out they were over $200 so in ways this is on par. It's really amazing to me what people can do now.
