Just felt a mild tremor here in New Jersey. The news is freaking out. Tune in and laugh at us West Coasters.
I thought I had one too many drinks at lunch. They're saying it was a 5.8 quake in Virginia! That's pretty strong. Folks felt it up in Maine.
we evacuated our building here in King of Prussia, PA... T Mobile cell towers are down. I called my girlfriend in NY and she said the ceiling fan was shaking.
We didn't feel anything over here, but I still used it as an excuse to shoot a bunch of people with a nerf gun. Unfortunately, no one wanted to join me in the descent into chaos.
Fox News said the Washington Monument is tilting... aaaah!! aaaaaaaah!!! aaaaah!! Be afraid! Be Afraid!!! Baba Booey, Howard Stern's Penis, Baba booey!
It actually felt really crazy here, bunch of toys and dvds on the floor, dishes out of the cupboards, etc. I still can't receive or make cell calls, the circuits are all busy.
That is damn rare! Do they have an explanation of what plate shifted? Let's hope some mad scientist is not testing their new earthquake ray!
No, no mad scientist. We do get earthquakes occasionally. The last strong one was when I was a kid. It was strong enough to wake everyone and knock stuff off of shelves. The strongest earthquake ever recorded in the US was in New Madrid, MO. It rang church bells in Boston!
serious shaking here in dc. my building's been evacuated but traffic is such a cluster that i'm stuck here for awhile. my firsthand photojournalism: my cube neighbor's desk. the coffee was disgusting since he's been on vacation for a week:
The old Mack truck building my company occupies was apparently built to withstand things of this nature. I didn't feel a thing and was a bit confused when I heard about it. Still no cell phone service..
