i found ANOTHER awesome kaiju book with tons of original japanese movie posters and their variations. No idea what it's called because the book is completely in japanese. Will take a photo.
This Ltd. Edition Ultraman Chronicles Hardcover weighs a ton! All kaiju and heroes from UltraQ to Zearth, with behind the scenes pics from all of the shows! Works well as an encyclopedic reference with an 'A-Z' index.

You mean by Shoji Otomo (大伴昌司)? There's a neat book on Amazon by The Japan Society covering some of his work: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004AGNIQS http://asianart.com/exhibitions/littleboy/9.html
The above book Dr Who showed is not strickly a kaiju anatomy book. I recommend this one if you are looking strickly for a ultra kaiju anatomy book: http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-langu ... uage=en_JP or you can buy it here also: http://www.hlj.com/product/SGK20334
Just wanted to share one of many 'making of' pages taken from the Ultraman Chronicles book of kaiju I mentioned above. Cool to see the original suits at the workshop stage, with actors test running prototypes before shooting.
^^ this is amazing. I really need this book. I did a quick search on amazon.jp but had no luck. Any tips? *edit: never-mind just saw you flickr message thanks!!
Great find (even for the image) Lixx. From what I can tell, I am going to throw it out that it may be some kind of price guide for vintage, since it lists estimated values. I would also love to know more about it, or see some scans if someone has it on their shelf.
The Treasury Appraisal Guide Book below was released in April 2010. Guide value of the Gamegon is 80,000 yen in that book. The price guide that Lixx posted states value at 150,000 yen. Very big difference in value. http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-langu ... uage=en_JP Another book I found on Amazon Japan. Treasury Figure Large Picture Book 1950-1999: http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%81%8A%E5%AE ... 234&sr=1-2
Super333 wrote this, which is coming out in a few weeks: http://www.amazon.ca/Animes-Media-Mix-F ... 505&sr=1-1 I'm sure he'll be too shy to self-promote, but I'm also sure it will be great! Congrats Marc!
Vintage Toy Porn I have to give a big shout to Organic for giving me the scoop on this book. For the life of me I could not find any books with pics of Vintage Hero toys besides the Yuji book. He basically said anything you want to see a pic of is in this book. Thought I'd share some of my fave pics, since seeing inside pics of any sofubi book your about to purchase is rare and often a disappointment (this one is not -Sato Hero book): Sato Japanese Heroes Book- Condorman by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Sato Japanese Heroes Book- Ninja Arashi by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Sato Japanese Heroes Book- Red Baron by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Sato Japanese Heroes Book- Fireman by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Sato Japanese Heroes Book- Flying Attack Human/ Zone Fighter by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Sato Japanese Heroes Book- Thundermask by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Sato Japanese Heroes Book- Thundermask/ Iron King by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Sato Japanese Heroes Book- Kikaider by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Sato Japanese Heroes Book- Redman by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr
Dang I need me that book Lixx. It is exactly what I have been looking for. Can you send me the scoop on it? So it is not the Sato hero book, despite the name you've given to the images?
