I apologize in advance... I hate to say it & can't help myself but this totally reminds me of those like goth bratz dolls that I remember ribbon controller's daughter used to have haha sorry she has cool details & arm attachments are super cool too though. always a fan of that!

I don't get the goth sense at all. It's Gigeresque to me.
The bottom torso and appendages (especially on the painted versions) have a lot fluidity to them. I can definitely see the blobpus influence. The upper torso is the perfect pairing or blend between the two. It almost reminds me of Exohead especially with the arms. I don't know but for me this came out of left field and I think it's fantastic. She's like the hive queen and the joe are henchmen.

Plus maybe it's just me and not intentional but unofficial princess leia hair wins everytime.

 

I absolutely love this. I will never get over the fact that I missed out on the blanks.

 

Probably one of the biggest draws for me was that it was a blank, PK blanks are so hard to come by. Even at that, TAG PK blanks seem to have been accessible, whereas for the other sculpts blanks don't seem to make it into the wild in large numbers.

 

I don't have the money right now....but I didn't even hear about the drop....where did you guys hear about it?

Late to the party...But...Wow! I'm really liking the repetition of spirals throughout the sculpt. I bet she'd look great alongside my small(but loved) collection of Deadstockers.

 

The fact that there are squid and tentacles all over her skirt I was instantly smitten. Hair can be inter-changeable with existing PK pieces is a plus. I want the most out of my toys and the possible variety of this figure is endless.

I would love to see a group show with Vertebrata as a primary figure and other artists come up with their own attachments.

Totally out there toy from 2 weirdos - whats not to appreciate?

 

Recently sent my Vertebrata off to the Critical Hit laboratories and let Skinner get weird with my blank from the PSUEDOMORPHISM show. Of course he killed it. Heres a couple quick picks.

It also seems that the Mockbat belly attachments can be replacements for the shell-like buns. There was one custom Vertebrata by Paul in the show that had the replaced attachments.

Vertebrata represents evolutionary struggle, and adaptation in the primordial biological arms race to avoid and outrun predators.
cephalopods, early water isopods, we beat them all by growing spines. We outran them.

She's an evolutionary "Bride of Frankenstein". A fossil queen of the pool. Mother nature, a demon fighter arisen from the stew of life.

Kaji and I are really into that stuff.
It's a shame all that other culture shit and insecurity of a "female character" or god forbid "DOLL" we chose to do clouds everyone's perception of the fig, and how for granted we take the idea the human has made it this far is beyond me. We can't even manage how good we have it anymore, so we will be eating and killing each other's brains forever on out until the end.

Just take that, think and say what you will. it's all i expect here anymore.

But I still don't own a clear. Dammit.
