Very happy to finally have this piece, Hawaiian Bullmark Godzilla (metallic green version)!

^ Agreed! While I don't own a vintage Bullmark or Marusan Godzilla yet :x , at least I have the giant-sized Marusan transparent one, which sort of seems like an homage to this paint scheme. Congrats on the pickup.

Great find man. Fantastic to see the lineup of all three together like that. Simply stunning colours on that Hawaii Goji. (Gah, why does it have to be so hard to come by?!) Now just show us all the rest of your vintage collection! :)

That's really a beautiful Goji AWM! I agree, the Hawaiian version really stands out. I'm sure glad I don't chase vintage monsters because I'd be in a world of pain monetarily for sure. Did pick up this M1 version a few years back that according to CT is supposed to be painted to look like that Hawaiian:

Of course having the original is by far the better choice ;)

Time to bring the discussion back on topic

@Sanjeev: I do love his colors as well! I feel like they're much brighter and nicer in person than in the pictures though. Much more unique than the standard release. If I remember correctly, you have one too don't you?

@Kingboy D and Lixx: Both of those pieces definitely seem to be inspired from the Hawaiian spray. The biggest difference I notice with the M-1 though is the base vinyl is brown rather than the original's dark green. If you aren't trying to chase the actual vintage figure, that's a nice version to have since it kind of gets the same idea across with just a different base color.

@ultrakaiju: Thank you! It's sometimes annoying when the really cool color schemes (or the figure itself like in the case of Megalon or MechaGodzilla) are really hard to find... But when you do finally acquire the piece, its a lot more satisfying and rewarding. Certainly makes you appreciate the piece more.

Also, as you requested, here's some vintage collection pictures. I've posted some here before but it's been awhile and I updated the one shot with the Hawaiian Godzilla's inclusion:

Most of the Marusans, Bullmarks, and Popy figures (Bullmark Minya is on the shelf below and Marusan Ebirah is on a shelf above)

    ^^So good!

Yup! One of my favorite toys!

    Truth.

Just sucks how expensive they are. Whenever my non-collector buddies come over to watch monster movies or whatever, I always take my Bullmarks out of their cases for us to mess around with (thankfully vintage sofubi are far more simple and durable to play with than, say, vintage chogokin!). That way, at least they get to understand what the fuss is all about--they get to see the charm and feel nostalgia for a simpler time when your imagination made up for non-movie-accurate sculpts or nine-hundred points of articulation.

Ha, two very happy people with that trade. Nice one Scott! As if the bootleg wasn't great enough on its own, your little gif there of it capturing its 'essence' melts even my grumpy old heart. :)

    Nice!

I've got a few small vintage parcels coming in that I'll need to photo. Plus I keep forgetting that my Robodachi collection is actually vintage, although mostly chogokin.

So glad he made it! Yeah that gif is great. Sometimes you get so caught up in your own collecting frenzy that you tend to forget how much certain toys mean to other collectors. Zaboga could not have gone to a happier collector, even my cynical heart was touched by Scott's illustration:

That's probably as sappy as I've been in awhile :)

My Robodachi collection! The vinyl Robo Q & friction car arrived a year ago, and the rest I have had since childhood.

My new vintage Bullmark Ikarus Seijin. My first Bullmark (obtained as an adult)! He's a happy looking little fella.

Thanks! I knew it existed but I've only seen it twice on YJA in the last two years (and this being the second time). Had to scramble like mad but it was really worth it.
