My first big box in quite a while. The pachi gomera in the red/blue has been on my want list for a LONG time. Excited to finally score one. [
Lol! I have exactly two toys in your new haul coming my way as well. Really dig that blow mold Arashi and patchi Devilman. The size and color of the Gomera you finally found has real appeal also. Great bunch of toys.
Wow, nice haul man; lots of great stuff there. So excited to see yet another one of those Ninja Arashi bootlegs! What an amazing toy. The Gomora is great too, as is his pachi twin there. I also love the KZ Gigan. All really nice additions that would make any vintage collector thrilled.
hey thanks steve. Me too, love the clear arashi. Weird thing about that one. I won this in october having never seen this sculpt in clear before, then andy and chris scored one also within months (Im guessing). you sir have good taste
Why thank you. You as well. I drool over how complete you are on certain characters. Yeah that Ninja Arashi I never see really pop up, then the clear and the regular version seemed to pop up more than a few times. It's a double edged sword here posting pics. On the one hand: it's vintage toy porn we all love to see, more than capable photographers posting the toys close up and from every angle, also it's always nice to see what's out there. On the other hand I'm sure sellers read SB and that might add to their "appearance" on certain sites. Good if it's reasonably priced and let's more people own toys they are looking for, bad if they get flipped for lots of $$$.
Congrats on the Gomora - I've been digging that since first learning about it a while back. The colors on the Gorosaurus are great - those are usually pretty faded from what I've seen. And of course the giant Ghidorah is fantastic. I hate the bright colors on my reprint.
Small assortment. So glad I nabbed a midsize TT Kikaida. Don't see that around too often. Ninja Arashi is like a soft rubber duckie!
Wow, massive huge find right there. While the Daimajins are around and some pop up from time to time that are (somewhat) affordable, it is rare to see one with such great paint on him. Lots of silver remaining and the green still looks bright and metallic. Fantastic score man! Now, I can never tell for sure, but it looks like this one might need the old foot correction too [or not]. I am not sure if it would bug me enough to try and fix on a such a great vintage toy, but that is a conundrum I would be very happy to face some day.
Nah, the feet on that are perfect. If they were reversed, they'd be a lot less splayed and he'd stand a little wobbly. But anyway, I agree: the paint on this one is divine! Congrats!!
Cool, thanks Sanjeev. I will watch for the wider stance in the future. It definitely looked like the feet were fully flush on this one, but I thought that maybe that was why they 'corrected' it to be this way, but I guess it was more for the direction of the toe/feet sculpts. Man, I can't stop looking at these photos again and again and examining every millimetre of him; I can only imagine what having one in one's own hand is like. I know the word grail get thrown around here a lot, but that Daimajin is seriously cornerstone piece of a vintage collection for me, and I am really happy for you that you were able to find one, and such a beautiful example at that.
Yeah, something about that shade of blue paint...and how the paler vinyl shows through. Just magical. Gorosaurus is easily one of the most underrated Toho Bullmarks. Still want a purple one though...
We had a big ol' discussion about some seller painting a modern one to look like the vintage here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=13925&start=1025 Nice Daimajins Jordan. Paint looks like it's in great shape!
Trying to be good and not buy, but this was too hard to pass up. I was not originally into this figure, but over time it grew on me. And now that I have it in hand, I appreciate it so much more. Its a nice bulky sculpt. I think this is the Hawaiian version. The auction photo made it look pretty dirty and bland, but it cleaned up nicely.
Nice pick up Kingboy! I never noticed those weird patterns on the sides of the Mikuras before. For a second I did a double take because they almost look like swastikas. That's definitely a hawaiian vinyl. Why are they always so much nicer? Great score.
Yeah, he is a real beauty. Great score on that one. Sounds like you might have got a sweet bargain to boot by a poor listing description and bad photos! I am glad you came around - I don't know how anyone could not love the Bullmark Mikuras sculpt. I don't think I have seen a Mikuras I did not love. He is also the perfect character for some Hawaii paint colour schemes.
Thanks. I never noticed those patterns either before getting him in hand. And yeah, this was surprisingly inexpensive. These are the auction photos (had to create this gif after seeing the similarity in photos during my scrolling): Oh, and I love the feet on this guy! Big chunky humanoid toes.
