Congrats!! I had that guy in my watch list and missed him because work has been do crazy I forgot to bid. That's amazing that he cleaned up so nice, i almost can't belive it for that price. Glad he went to a good home, enjoy dude!!
...my sis was kind enough to head to Mandrake when in Japan and got me my first vintage vinyl. Funny, she told me she saw NO other women at all when wandering round Akihabara. She also told me it took a damn damn long time to get the shop assistants to understand that she actually wanted to BUY it. * Bullmark Miclas - anyone know what year it's from? ...my sis got it loose, and this is the first shot i took. So an in the wild, post present pic.
^ Very nice gift from your sister, Josh! Did she visit Cosmo Knight Alpha and other toy stores during her Japan visit?
i didn't get these guys in the mail, i actually got them at a (mostly) vintage toy store today. these are generally referred to as "Electric Game Company aliens." super, super stoked to find these out in the wild. never even seen the first one before.
Patrick, I already commented on your flickr but I'm really happy that you scored these guys! Ever since I saw them in one of Jim's photos I've looked for them. Excellent picks and I'd love some photos with other toys to have a real idea of the size.
...only Mandrake sadly! Though she did got to Secret Base last time she was in Japan. She does it all for me, no real interest on her part. AND she usually takes pics so i can choose what i want! She is amazing. She does really like 'Trash Pack' stuff, and she can appreciate pop-culture too. IF you care, she is on Instagram as @younglethal
It is a character from the Tezuka s' "Wansa-kun". Maybe you have seen small bank figure starring a cute white dog playing sports ? Like the one on my photo. The cute white dog is Wansa-kun the main character. There is the bank figures, but there is a set of 4 small figures and there is a set of 4 larger figures. This dog is one from that set, they are hard to find . These are squeak!
hardly anything. they're just marked "Electric Game Co. Hong Kong." i believe they're from the 70s, and there are 7 different figures that i know of. no idea how they were packaged or what they're actually called.
Picked up this guy... Agira? .. guessing it must be bootleg.. No manufacturer's marks anywhere. Would be interested if anybody knows anything about it!
^^^ They are mexican bootlegs called 'Super Dinosaurs' or 'Super Dino Monsters'. I have a couple somewhere myself . . . . See this thread: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=38246&hilit=super+dinosaurs
While certainly 17 years old is not new by any stretch, when we refer to vintage here we mean the original toys from the 60's and 70's that's all. Companies like Bullmark, Marusan, Bandai, Popy, Nakajima, Yonezawa, bootlegs, the list goes on an on. Wasn't trying to be a hard ass but we like to keep it tidy here. Vintage collectors kind of think of this section of SB as an oasis from the daily grind of newer toys. I have that Marmit Matango in glow. It's definitely a nice toy.
No worries Lixx, it's an oasis worth protecting. The older toys are definitely where my preferences lie, it's just I'm not fortunate to have many. Yet! Nearly all of my stuff is cheapo 80's Bandai. My aim is to slowly replace them with their ancestors... Thread derail over!
Been a while since I posted a full size Bullmark. This guy is a little scuffed, but in really nice shape for my standards, and was a relative bargain, so fortunately I have a few coins leftover to feed him. Nice paint on him, and of course, one of the classic Bullmark sculpts.
