Been really getting back into Type O Negative lately. Only been a handful of months since my last obsessive listen, but they’re great to keep on rotation.
I've been deep diving into folk punk lately. I know I'm super late to the party, I just figured all music from the last 15 years was shit, with few exceptions. But these two bands: Days'N'Daze and Apes of the State are so good. Ok this is the first time I've seen this Apes of the State video and I personally don't think it does the song justice but the band and song are still great. Anyone else late to the 'crust punk but 10% less dirty and make it acoustic' party?
New Deftones album Private Music came out a couple days ago, and it’s pretty amazing. They’re one of few bands I feel consistently keeps their signature sound, while being able to make each album feel fresh, like they’re doin’ it for the first time. The track “I Think About You All the Time” has been heavily on repeat for me the last couple days.
What a musical brain and the chops to articulate his ideas. I found Animals as Leaders challenging to listen to at first, but i liked what i hearing--and after a while, i was constantly rediscovering songs with each listen. And the drummer can handle the weight. he's made me want to just try the flute or something...
