Ugh, guess I'm getting old. Yeah, that's what I've heard - not so many good things about ANDROID, but I've actually meant to watch MERMAID for a long time - somehow never really got to it. HE NEVER DIES & LUCKY SKY DIAMOND sound weird enough to spark my interest, but then again, I guess sometimes I'm just a sucker for weirdness for weirdness' sake...

Any Weird Tales issues from before Sept. 1954. I just love those.

I am a Romero afficionado, so anything by him is always revolving through my DVD player, although Land of the Dead was a big disappointment for me (except Asia Argento :) ). I also adore the Armando De Ossorio 'Blind Dead' series, there is something about the atmosphere of his films that is just bloody ace. I like a lot of the old Hammer stuff as well, and anything with Vincent Price. I do love a really crap 80's horror though, and regularly dust off the VHS tapes and my player and will watch Zombie Nightmare, or Hard Rock Zombies lol!

I think you need to see Thor's even MORE amazing film "Rock N' Roll Nightmare" and also "Black Roses" and of course the classic Ozzy and Gene Simmons cameo romp "Trick or Treat" to get a full dose of "Heavy Metal is EVIL" themed crappy 80's horror.

I have nothing right now getting me going. CHUD pumped me up a bit a few months back and got me on a "Horror due to Toxic Waste" themed flicks from the 80's but I've faded away from that now. I'm hoping with the Halloween season something will get me, but I doubt anything from the major market.

Hell yeah! I LOVE Trick or treat! I bought the soundtrack lol! Black Roses was good too, but T or T wins that one. I haven't seen any other Thor movies, but he played Chicago not too long ago. I really wanted to go lol! terrible!

Did you ever see 'The Video Dead'???

I watched Hellraiser 1 & 2 last night. Not as good as I remembered, it's been awhile since I've seen them (few years).

The movie Inside got me pumped!

    Looking forward to TGP!

Back in the day I was totally obsessed with Hellraiser mostly because of my CLive Barker obsession. I had a dubbed VHS copy that i literally wore out. I went back and watched a DVD of it about 6 months ago. Still love the story. love the Cenobites, love the look of it, but DAMN the young characters (Kirsty and...her boyfriend, cant think of his name) were played by some baaaaad actors (embarassingly so). The adult actors were only slightly better. I wouldn't say it's a dealbreaker because I still love the movie but how could I have not noticed that before???

    They are "relaunching" Hellraiser.

I'm not sure what to make of that.... :|
Could be good, could be bad.

Romero is always pleasing. My fave flick by him is The Crazies. I can watch this thing sooooo many times and definitely not get bored! His half of the double feature with Argento on Two Evil Eyes, The Facts In The Case Of Mr. Valdemar is an excellent watch as well. Pretty light on the gore, but then again, i don't even think an once of blood is shown in the og Night Of The Living Dead, but that doesn't mean that Romero didn't own the screen on that! Speaking of Argento, i got on a huge kick of his stuff a few years back, and every time I watch one of his flicks (or Joe D-Amtato's), I always wish that Goblin would release a box set of all of their soundtrack music.....

Funny enough, I thought both Argento and Romero's newest films were shit! Diary of the Dead, I couldn't hate enough and Mother of Tears was about the biggest let down of the year. Probably only because I wasn't expecting much from diary.

Haven't kept up on Argento since Wax Mask, which I didn't like either, and i've heard some pretty bad things about Diary of the Dead. Plus, since at Chicago Comic Con a couple years back with John Russo trying to sell me all his shitty photocopied theater posters autographed for $50 because, regardless of my repeated "not interested" attitude, I've lost some respect for the guy...his Escape of the Living Dead comics fucking ruled though!!!!!!!!!!

That could have turned out interesting as long as the INSIDE guys were attached to it.

And especially Argento needs to just STOP. The trash he's been cranking out is beyond ridiculous. Unbelievable this is the same guy that did SUSPIRIA. Makes me actually reconsider Daria's influence on his early works...

I kinda liked Diary, Land was wank though, and the ending made me want to hurt things, shite!!! I can't quite get my head round what Russo was thinking re-releasing that 30th anniversary version on NOTLD with all the 'extra scenes' added. It was beyond crap. I am pretty sure he lost a lot of fans letting that load of bollocks loose on the public.

Finally got around to watching Phantasm last night, even though I've had the DVD for almost a year. Cool idea, and Angus Scrimm is tight, but the other actors were ludicrously bad. Are the sequels any good?

I love Phantasm so much, I've been trying to find numbers 2-4 so I can watch the whole series straight through, but no video stores have them anymore. I'll probably have to buy them.

Count, only 3 and 4 are now available on DVD, at least in the states.

Hit me up, we'll work something out.

"Midnight Meat Train" is well worth a watch. I enjoyed it. The DVD extra's include scenes in Clive's art studio where you can see his, ahem, awful paintings.
