What is your favorite release? Whether it was a lucky bag, lottery or from a show, what is the one figure that you were the most excited to get and why. For me it was the black/orange painted marbled Hedoran that Super 7 & Gargamel did for New Years in 2015. At that time standard size Hedoran wasn't in the Lucky bags so most of my collecting was chasing older releases. Being able to get one online from Super 7 and to be the only owner was very exciting. Still is one of my favorite figures.
Not trying to be cheeky, just genuinely asking for clarification. Are you asking in terms of just favourite toy (because there are a few of those threads already)? Or are you speaking of the specific circumstances surrounding a release, event e.g. the memories/connections you might have made, what you went through to get it, the build up/anticipation, or what it means to you, etc.? Or are you targeting this discussion specifically at Super7 toys? [we can move this to that sub-forum in that case]
I searched around and found a couple threads geared towards certain years, or towards certain toy makers. My aim for this thread is more about memories and why that specific release is the one that stood out the most. Open to all toy makers and types of releases.
I’ve been pretty lucky to have a lot of good memories I can associate with this hobby, meeting and making friends and artists, and traveling all over on adventures, but My personal favorite release/acquisition is this Astrobrain because I bought it in Japan at Secretbase. It was the only fighter they had in the shop the day I visited and I was glad to get it. Secretbase fighters are what got me seriously interested in this hobby and they still are my favorites all these years later.
