I don't know, I kinda like this set up. Ha, though I can imagine how careful you must have to be getting to ... well,.. most of these guys. Still, and I think you hit it on the head w' the "creeping red weed" reference, the organic quality of what it's become is kinda comforting. Maybe cause it does bring back those childhood memories Moody Doom mentioned, or because it reminds me of those stores so packed to the gills w' old games & toys that you'd be buried if the aisles (or walls of stuff) collapsed. Ha, I remember my eyes starting to hurt, having to search every centimeter, for chance I'd miss the Perfect toy. Display cases are indeed fancy and great for "archival" qualities, and I plan to go that route myself (eventually)... I don't know, maybe my affinity for your collection comes from that "refusal to grow up" place inside us toy collectors... Ha, but anyway, man, before I write a paper on it , love the collection & setup, Moog. I give it 2 thumbs up.
Not sure if you're interested in owning these, MoodyDoom, but Guf just put up a New Sales thread & he still happens to have these same 2 Hideshi Hino characters available (maybe not same version tho). Here : http://www.skullbrain.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=46378.
the stuff i collect might not interest everyone here, but here are some shots. there are toys hiding all over the place, around my bookshelves, record cabinet, drawing table, etc, but these are the key shelves. i love to collect mostly off-brand, knockoff, obscure or nameless monster and alien toys from the 60s-90s. i also love vintage plastic banks, bendy monsters, vintage dinosaurs, 70s muppet stuff, US released kaiju knockoffs, Madballs knockoffs, Robocon and related series, and basically anything weird, colorful, and silly. sorry for the crappy photo skills, try to enjoy it anyway!
Cool collection, muckmonster! It brings back so many memories. Ha, I'd love to have a good bit of these Some of the obscure ones were the best too. I found an old Ugg Family toy of mine the other day - a yellow / green guy w' a few red bumps on his head. Oh, you have it too. So Is that the whole set, and are the "Gremlin Creatures" & "Outer Terrestrial Creatures" related to the Uggs? Glad you shared it, man!
the Ugg Family figure you're talking about is named Mooky. Ugg Family, Outer Terrestrial Creatures, Lil Gremlin Creatures, and Fuzzy Wuzzies (the only packaging name variation i don't have that i know about) are all the same series, just repacked and sold in different years. there are 6 characters, each having 2 color variations. they were sold in 1, 3 and 6 packs. one of my favorite toy lines ever!
Those shelves are chock full of goodness Muckmonster! I spotted a number of things I have like the timmee space figure and the Marty Toys Outer terrestrials; and a whole lot I'd love to own as well. Thanks for sharing the collection.
I had some of those Ugg Family toys. I forgot all about them. I would like to find a couple. Great collection. I really like the Sho-Biz 45's on the wall!
Some great stuff you got there muck! Both on the walls and the shelves- love that googly eye flower holding bank guy- sweeet!
thanks everyone! it's a lot of fun collecting and getting to share photos with people who appreciate it!
^^^ Love collections like yours muckmonster . . . . so much to look at . . . . such a kaleidoscope of colours! Nice selection of Robocon figs too
Don't see Another World toys all that often - great collection Muckmonster. I recently packed all my old Another World (at least that's what they were called here in Ausland) up for storage. One day I'll get the space for them again.
Consider myself enlightened Well cool, if I decide to collect the lot, I've got 11 to go then. Thank You so much for all of the Mooky information, muckmonster. Ha, and I'm also going to save your collection for "toys to find" referencing
MUCKMONSTER HOLY SHIT YES THOSE ARE THE BEST SHELVES I'VE SEEN IN FOREVER! Sungold Monsters, are you kidding me!? I am ALMOST complete on those, just need that Frankenstein. All uncarded, but whatever. AMAZING collection dude.
Muck used to post on an action figure forum I used to go to back when I was collecting a lot of vintage American stuff, his shelf shots always deliver an eyeful. I love collections of weirdo obscure stuff, always nice to see things I've never seen.
Whoa! What is that monster in the framed photo from??? That's the same creature as the secret base space barbarian! I never knew it was an homage to anything! Please anyone have any other info on that?
just finished my set of 6 inch Sungold monsters, and i'm slowly working my way through the mini monsters. so far i have one carded 2 pack and 2 loose ones (out of 12) and i've been searching for about 4 years.
sorry, it's just some picture i found in a torn up old sci-fi or monster mag...wish i knew what it was from!
