So I guess the proverbial kittens are now all free from their metaphorical sacks. Looks like it was a smashing event again, with loads of toys I was fascinated by, and a few I would have gone through great lengths to get my hands on. One of these was the mini Frankie from Sunguts. I was also incredibly intrigued to see the lineup from Shelterbank (still would bend over backwards to get my hands on one of their Mizuki two-headed mummies). The new figures in their lineup are equally as phenomenal, and I think of a similar scale too.

Wish some of these would be available for overseas sales. I do find it odd that the mummy seems to be unpainted on the body, as, for one, I personally think it detracts from the overall wonderful wraps the others had, but also seems like an oversight for such a hefty toy, as well as at a fairly high pricepoint. But maybe some folks just want sparkling white mummies. I would have like to see a different paint scheme though instead, if the intent is just to differentiate it from the previous two releases.

    Bigger pic borrowed from IG:

The other thing that I was incredible thrilled to see was, not only the return of the giant Red Baron from Windair Workshop, but that they now did a companion Black Masai figure!! As if one giant robot was not enough in a collection, a mighty companion for RB to battle would be so great.

best pics I can find for now:

Look forward to more reports as they come in. So what has you excited? :)

I think this is one of the best WF I've seen in a few years. Itokin Park and Mirock show stealers but also great stuff from Denboku (as always), Zoomoth and Shamrock Arrow.

Just posting this pic for reference, but I could swear that this WF 17 is the same colorway as SF 16?! If you look at the mid section of the WF 17 version you can see faint 'aged wraps'. I think it's just the lighting making them faint. Here's mine:

Maybe leftovers from SF 16 and they now have license to sell them again (since I think it's a one day license no?). Regardless a great fucking toy- HUGE and so much character.

More pics of both versions side by side here:

Very likely, since all the shelterbank figures are hand made, They seem to make waves of the same colorway over time. Maybe they can't make as many as they would like at once.

Though not sofubi, these little keshi toys were released at WF. I'm happy to say that they should be en route to my grubby hands soon. They are produced by an artist that goes by the name Taro Syoukai, don't know too much about him (her?).

@hellscrape I was tempted to grab those too but 30 bucks each for tiny 1 inch figures was a bit much for my budget.

Here's what I got (not including garage kits...and a porcelain Mizuki tanuki)

Getting the train at 5am and queuing for 4 hours paid off - very pleased to get the Itokin figures. Some of the queues first thing were crazy, particularly Sunguts and Denboku. I was considering that 2-headed mummy but it sold out by the time I got to the stall. There were a lot of nice keshi figures, and I ended up buying the Genjin/Bonk ones, although it does feel like a lot of money to be spending on tiny unpainted figures.

@kappa Really happy to know that you found the Itokin figures, and I love the 2 clear Linden yokai, queuing for 4 hours really paid off.

Those Shelterbank pieces are quite special, really expertly done and what lovely subject material they have to work with! Would love to own them one day. Itokin pieces are beautiful as always.

Found this one under the WF2017 hashtag on Instagram, anyone know who makes this cutie? I believe I have seen this girl character before in the form of vintage coin banks but this definitely looks new.

    Thanks @Fedhai!

The header definitely sealed the deal on the PC Genjin set... the "Konami" bit irks me though ;)
ZOOMOTH had some great video game keshi figures, too.

It looks like Nobara-chan (のばらちゃん かんぎん) but the hair is a different, so maybe not licensed. No idea who makes it, though, sorry - if it was there I overlooked it.

This figure is wonderful! I want it so bad. のばらちゃん is cute but this figure is so much more. The picture looking very nostalgic with the lighting helps too but still so 70s....

I found this photo and it seems there was different colors.

    Love this! It looks like it's inspiration is from this vintage DKB (Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank) mascot figure;

If I had seen the little girl with the record player Ida bought for sure, thats awesome. And the Enma-Kun is great, everything from Itokin Park is always top notch.

@onibaba5 , can you please tell me if those ice cream kitty cones are also from Worldfest, made by Itokin Park? So cute!

Kitty Cones are not an Itokin Park toy. Not sure when he is going to release them but the app is out for both iOS and Android. They will probably make their way into his webshop.

@ gatchabert - Thanks for posting info on the Kitty Cones! @ Mr. Humphreys - Those are 3-d printed samples/prototypes I made thru Shapeways.
Bert is correct and they'll find their way to my web-shop or I'll share a link from toy co. partner. : )

@onibaba5 YIPPEEEEE!!! :D:D:D Can't wait to adopt them! By the way, those 3D printed prototypes are so shiny, and the soft-serve top-knot curl is a nice detail! They look like lickable desserts . Hope the final versions have a similar shiny finish to them too!

p.s. I like how the kittees are independent of the cone, so that you can take them out for extra play time
p.p.s. Also wondering if you will make a Napoleon swirl kittee?
