Currently shooting a documentary in a remote fishing village down south of Manila... Cometdebris' Tokoji Seijin's adventure coming soon!
Re: Tokoji On A Trip...updated This is Iloilo--Central Philippines... Me and Tokoji paid a visit to a group of children who live in a nearby island in a town called Batad. Boatride to the small island takes about 10 to 15 minutes...
Children here have little time to play... Belonging to families of fisherfolks, most of the time, they help with the livelihood... At times, the catch of the day is not even enough to feed a family.
Life is hard enough for these kids. What makes it worse is that sometimes, they even have to swim for almost an hour from a school on the mainland, if their parents are out in the sea fishing, and couldn't fetch them on time...
such inspiring imagery Jay...!!! thank you for always sharing your wonderful adventures with us...!!!
Thanks guys for appreciating---Its a pleasure sharing these pictures to fellow Skull Brainers.... Here's more..... Shooting this documentary was hampered by giant jellyfish which according to locals, usually come out during the months of May and June So its better to stay on the boat when near the water... My director Lea and my cameraman Jayson capturing the sunrise....
This is Toko's view every morning for 4 days in Batad.... getting a glimpse of the peeking sunshine... "tele-vision"....
very beautiful pictures. i do need a better camera seeing your photo journals also reminded me how previleged (or silly?) i am to be in a position to chase expensive pieces of plastic instead of worrying about my next meal.
this is incredible our toys help the world, or at least bring a smile where its needed most. Thank You for sharing
.......... said it before and I'll say it again........... I love your photo essays ............ great work Jay !!!!!
Yes, I think they are so intrigued by Toko---they kinda like his cuteness and shine...maybe next time, I will try to bring a toy that I can leave with them as presents or a small token... Thanks everyone for the compliments! Till the next toy adventure!
