My newest sculpt, 5.5 inches tall, King Of The Forest! looking to release this guy on valentines day to mark 1 year of toy making! A little story behind the King of the Forest: "Born in the year 1823 into the Royal Deciduous Family, the King was given the name Hickory Bitternut III. His family was responsible for making sure the balance was kept in the sacred peaceful bond between nature, critter and human. In the early 1900's a deadly disease had struck the Bitternut forest forcing all trees and animals to flee so as not to get sick. Hickory was the only survivor of the R.D.F and thus was crowned king, though he never really felt fit for the job. As years went by, more and more animals started to move to the new kingdom and they all had stories to tell of why they had to flee their home land. One day a chipmunk arrived after traveling hundreds of miles on the back of a fox. He was very sick and died in the branches of Hickory, but not before telling him that it was the humans in their machines that had broken the sacred bond and were the reason for all the disease and suffering. Infuriated by this, the King held a meeting with all the other leaders of the forest to let them know that bond had been broken and humans were no longer to be trusted. Today, the King still watches over the animals and plants of the forest and keeps the balance of nature in check. He is slowly fighting back at the humans and their machines to make sure that they don't destroy the little bit of forest that is left!"
This is by far the best figure that you have done. Totally a swamp thing feel to it. This is a great new direction for you. Stick with it !
details are probably pain in the ass to sculpt. love the leaves concept--very green probably. congrats!
That is amazing work! I'm quite impressed...and I want one! That sculpt would be so much fun to paint!
Totally agree. I'd also be curious if somewhere along the way you'd change the facial expression and 'lose' your trademark grin... it'd be fascinating to say the least.
thanks everyone, im super excited for this toy! im preping the second half of the mold right now, hopefully if all goes well tomorrow we can see a first cast!!! i posted a little back story up in the first post if anyone is interested! i have thought about this because sometimes i will have an idea in mind for a monster and then the face just doesnt work with it at all, so i was thinking that if i do start to do ones with out the face, i may just call it something other than WeKillYou!
Wow - very nice work on this sculpt. As stated earlier the detail is simply amazing. This one could look really interesting cast in some of your clear resin. As a little twist on the trademark WKY facial expression, it would be neat to see some vines or a bug emerging from the mouth. Looking forward to seeing the progress.
awesome man, i think clear green with a brown rub would look cool on this, with something like pink or orange for the face
Here is a pic of the first colorway while its still blank!! i am gonna paint one up in just a bit i dont have any clear resin right now, im looking for some longer drying ones to try and battle the bubble problems ive been having.
