I like the production light grey (Blue-green-yellow) version a lot, maybe more than the prototype which was a bit heavy on colors. The unpainted dark grey is also really peculiar, you don't see this vinyl color very often. I was just wondering why he gave him such a long tail. They are such a pain to put on display shelves...
Ultimately, that's what's keeping me from wanting one of these. Who knows, if a colorway comes along that really knocks my socks off I might jump for it, but the damn tail is really killing it for me. If a figure doesn't "need" a tail it shouldn't have one because they really do take up way too much space. I also agree on the comment regarding the smoke stacks going past the leg joint...shoulda stopped prior to the joint.
shit, I'm digging both of these suckers. I'm gonna go with the charcoal painted version, but I like the colors on the other one too (grew on me). they look toxic and funky, but I think it works for a pollution monster like this.
Definitely think this piece could've been done without a tail and cut off smoke stacks.... Everyone's a critic though
smog monster looks awesome! i want one ..... but i agree, the smoke stacks couldve been executed better, but they dont bother me too much
could have been better, but for a smog monster some rough parts not all wrong. dark grey painted version looks very nice to me. havent been that impressed by a new figure for long. slightly bigger size seems to bring out monstrous looks very well. clear grey painted version would be so cool. tail doesnt look especially long on this foto: ...great shots "as usual" jcat!!!
King Smog is up for order now I just got the Dark Gray version, although the colorful light gray version was tempting. 9800 yen
can't say this one's gonna be worth the dough at this moment... I REALLY hope does a second release with new colors though
I took the plunge on the painted dark gray. i just love this sculpt too much, and the orange/silver sprays on the gray is actually quite unique. i'm looking forward to getting this.
I cracked for the dark gray painted version. I agree, very unique color scheme, looks like pollution spewing from a factory. I would also like to see a clear/smoke vinyl painted like this.
I still cannot choose which one to get. I love the dark, but the light grey matches the oil shock better. Really thinking about buying a painted and unpainted, but $$$
you make a good point! uh oh! Maybe I should just buy all 4 that way I won't make the wrong decision?
i'm so happy with every piece in my elegab collection. the GID oil slick is just awesome, kinda hoping there will be a glow release for the King Smog sculpt. If not i need to make a decision quick!
Hasn't every new figure gotten a glow version? Well definitely see one. Grabbed my dark King Smog, and paypal hit me for fucking 79 yen a dollar. Sucks.
