I think Bwana's style works horribly with Butas. I agree with this observation.

Bwana done a good job on butanohana Micros.
Hope another artists also can do some painted on them.

I don't get it, they look pretty cool.

They look great - I bought a couple- I think the paint really makes the details pop.

anyways, I dig the micros alot, I snagged the twintail which is soo nice painted up.

For sculpts like the Buta no hana toys, the texture of the toy itself and the "random quirkiness" is enough for me. Adding some colorful splashes of paint in this manner kills the novelty for me and a bit over I think.

The sculpts themselves have such invention that simple and specific accents are what really bring out the joy in them: The crawler on Gorgos' back; the striking green of Hare Hare's sash; the satisfying contrast of Woo's teeth; etc. I'm glad Bwana's customs are working for some people here, but for my eyes the pairing lessens both artist's work.

But that's just my eyes - plenty of room for plenty of styles out there.
