I'm surprised no one made mention of this? New sculpts and such, are eye candy galore... http://www.flickr.com/photos/giantrobotmag/sets/72157624098683460/
Loving the new figs... I don't own any dehara resins, but hopefully soon. I especially liked the bunny and the green goblin.
There's actually a few that I'm interested in. But I kind of remember the last time gr had a show, it was a bit of clusterfuck in how they handled things. Hopefully it go smoothly.
It's always a clusterfuck with GR. Not one good experience with them. I still want one of those little boogers though.
i believe those are onigiri rather than buns due to their triangular shape and the strip of nori. but yeah, these are great!
With the exception of the Bienniale, most of GR's shows open on the weekend with the leftovers appearing online later the following week. They always post the shows at the same link based on the location. I think this one is at GR2, so it should appear here http://www.gr2.net/artshow.php after the old show is taken down.
totally right! i knew they had a technical name.. just didn't have in mind during that post. did anyone go? curious to see how much they might be.
I saw this on davidugly's blog but can't find any other info on them. What are those marvels ? WHO HAS THEM
Those are great, BUT whats the deal with everyone doing the same monsters at the same time? OK everyone needs to do a Zag cuz they sell but c'mon enough with the Kappas. Koji got first dibs let him do his thing with it for awhile.
kappa toys are made all the time by many different toy companies. it's a staple of japanese lore, so i don't think anyone's really stepping on any other's toes or trying to steal their thunder. besides, i like these much better than koji's version! more dehara vinyl means more chances to get our hands on his toys, right?
Pics of the Show are up on GR's Flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/giantrobotmag/sets/72157624098683460/
Is it just me or is Kappa sportin' a little bulge? Must be the Dehara influence. Those are way too cute, but not TOO cute if you know what I mean.
no offense at all, but I've never liked Dehara's stuff. I'm asking this question HONESTLY (so don't rip me): what is the draw for those who really like his work? what is it that you like about it? (i know everyone likes things for personal reasons, and art is art, to each his own, but just curious for those who collect/like it.
