I know there are a thread talk about new toy or ask question, but i just can't find it in my search result? please let know the link~ Anyone know more about this toy? It will be release at 6Mar. http://item.rakuten.co.jp/project1-6/10001314/
That's a pretty cool looking kaiju. The company name translated into english would be Jetturre. But from the katakana they used it would be spelt in romaji as Jettotāre. The middle says "Horumon Kaiju Horumorā" followed in parentheses "burning model." Not sure what they mean by burning model. But the kaiju actual name is "Horumorā." The other word "Horumon" is used in reference which means discard entrails that are sometimes not edible. So they are saying Horumorā is discard entrails from a kaiju.
thanks for the link~ i see they have a website: http://www.handsometarom.co.jp/ So the company name is HandsomeTaroM Inc.,Corp. the toy line call Buring Model and this Kaiju call Horumorer? so what's Jetturre mean? maybe chimply.kaiju can translate their story for us? http://www.handsometarom.co.jp/初めての方へ/ i also found this link: http://biginjap.com/vinyl-toys/2578-hormone-kaiju-horumorer-burning-model.html http://big-in-jap.blogspot.com/2011/02/hormone-kaiju-horumorer-burning-model.html
@bonemask That link is helpful. Ok the main distribution company is HandsomeTaroM which is a garage kit maker. Jetturre is also a seperate garage kit/toy company which works with HandsomeTaroM. The kaijū toy named "Horumorā" is a original designed by the company Jetturre per that HandsomeTaroM website. And from the Medicom Project 1/6 information. It specifically states it is a Jetturre collaboration with Medicom. But it does show a copyright to HandsomeTaroM on the main ordering page for Medicom Project 1/6. I'm guessing HandsomeTaroM contracted the sculpt from Jetturre. Looking at the information from the site. The toyline name does not appear to be "Burning Model." Using the word "model" can be slightly misleading. In this case model is referring to body type of the monster and not referencing kits or toy. My explaination of the word horumon is still correct. Apparently this kaiju is described as discard garbage who's body is burning from radiation from a meteor. Also there are creatures living inside his body if you go to the anatomical drawing for Horumorā.
My guess is that "burning model" refers to the paint app., i.e. this version. "Horumonu" is a kind of Korean barbecued meat, specifically any kind of guts, recently very popular in Japan.
It's not. I explained it in the prior comment i made. Horumon simply refers to discarded guts that is not normally eaten from a cow or pig. But can be eaten. It is not regional base food.
I'm not sure what I meant either. It made sense to me when I posted it. Sometimes old people (me) make jokes that are only funny to themselves.
You totally cracked me up, Connell Thought "Horumonu" was like kinda from "hormone" loosely borrowed. Had it in Osaka. Innards including beef testicles. Gives you POWER! so they say. It was tasty, but I was having mixed feelings while I was chewing it. Finally down it with ice cold beer.
Looks like Jetture and Handsome Taro M were 2 separate entities that have now joined forces and have incorporated under the name Handsome Taro M, but are keeping the brand names as separate lines. So the "Hormone Monster HORMORAH" is a figure released under the Jetture brand but since the legal entity is Handsome Taro M they hold the copyright. This looks like the 3rd release and I would agree with Stu that "Burning Model" is the release name. This release is coming out of Medicom as part of their ongoing series of releases of various kaiju in exclusive colorways. Hormone is the Japanese catch-all phrase for stomach, intestines - big or small -, and all those other special bits. They come in stews, soups or even fried Korean BBQ style or on sticks yakitori style. If you havent seen the Anatomy drawing it is super dope.
^^ Is this pic available in a book or as a print? Also, a version using darker colors like in this pic would be my preferred look. But it's already plenty gruesome as it is..
I like this one a lot more than the first two releases. The wicked, grinning, silver mouth and the dark eyes on this version are perfect.. I don't even mind the minimal spray and colors. Would love to see a picture with the ear/arms standing straight up in "stick em up" pose. I really want this. Maybe an early birthday present is in order.
@ plastichunter i agree, its better then the previous release. the mouth paint job is perfect. @ datadub I can found this hi-res dissected photo from their website, do you think they just copy the style of vintage dissected kaiju drawing or the toy is actually base on a vintage drawing? If they just copy the style and draw this then did a very good job, i got a book about vintage kaiju dissected drawing, the style is just look like the same. http://www.handsometarom.co.jp/jetturre-1/解剖図/
