Going to do the lottery tonight, please check my blog for more info, thanks! Kumon written in kanji means agony, I am gonna do a run of Kumon and donate the money to hopefully give some relief to some people up north of us. I'll put up a picture later of the sample with more details. Here is Yuriko's finished header art sans text. Sweet. Agony Kumon Header Art by Baikin, on Flickr Agony New Pict by Baikin, on Flickr Agony Pin Badge by Baikin, on Flickr Metallic blue, silver, black and gold on a white base. I'm doing this with my wife, Yuriko, she will be doing the header card and all the money from sales will be going to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami last week here in Japan. Yuriko is looking into where to donate but it will be direct to a place here in Japan. I will put these up on my blog when they are ready to be sold. UPDATE: Added a red ring to the eye. Yuriko is drawing the header art now and I will also include a 1 1/4" pin badge.
Re: Agony Relief Kumon I'm excited for this, I emailed you a while ago about where I can get a kumon. I found one at lulubell and ordered it, but I want to get this one too!!! Glad to hear you're ok. Just saw ur flicker pic of the empty store shelves I have friends in Chiba too and I'm so worried about them, though they say they are find... Anyways, on a lighter note, it be awesome if it was GID to represent hope in the dark.... Take care Dennis!!!
Re: Agony Relief Kumon (now with picture) Nice, I've been wanting to pick one of these up and now I have a great reason to do so.
Re: Agony Relief Kumon (now with picture) Completely agree - great toy - great colorway - great cause!
Re: Agony Relief Kumon (now with picture) I just got the white with silver sprays in the mail today. Great toy. I'd definitely like to get him a brother.
The header looks great especially in black and white. Also, I like the subtle touch of the red eye. Hope you guys are hanging in there.
Just have to say, ever since I got this guy, I constantly find myself picking it up. Such a beautiful and refined sculpt, you can really see how much care and time was put into it.
What Mark said- that is a wonderful, frameable image! Alternatively, Dennis, you might consider leaving the art side of the header text-less... I don't imagine I'm alone in saying that I would frame the header itself, if that were the case. I cannot wait to grab one of these! Again, GREAT job on them!
Still happening, Yuriko and I have just been so busy at work and other stuff that stole our time. I hope to get it all together this week.
