The Monkey Man with the white helmet is delayed and will not be available for sale Oct 21 from Ichibanboshi. It has been replaced for this version below for the Oct 21 sales.

I slept too long These are cool, I'd like one but not "buy from a flipper or crazy trade" want.

I keep hearing all this "year of the ape" talk but uh, Gorlla Ju came out like what, 2 years back? Or was it early 2010? I can't remember. Neo Gorilla was last year too, right? I mean those were last year. Then this is this year. Then what other apes? Any ape toys I can think of, this excluded, have been out a year or way more. I think the perception is there were not as many, slowly they came, now they've gained popularity.

Neo Gorilla was this year...Superfestival I think? He was in production and previewed on Ilu Ilu's blog during the last days of 2010 before anyone knew who the hell he was. I guess that means you're right

Ilu Ilu Neo Gorilla debut in Jan 2011 for SF, Mecha Gorilla ju debut this summer, Buta no Hana Gorilla from Ike Greenman was this year also, Ichibanboshi Monkey Man, you still have TE Robot Gorilla in late November.

Was Buta no Hana Puckey this year or last year? How about Marmit's and Zollmen Puckey? This year or last year? I can't remember.

The Zollmen MG5 was a few years back. Still, I don't feel like it's THAT much more over "dino" like figures in any given year or skull based figures in any given year.

Chris had the correct picture of the Monkey Man with black helmet and yellow trim up when he posted his sale.

I might be wrong but I remember seeing the white helmet on grumble.

as far as I know, those are 2 different releases and both sold out.

The white helmet version with red face was never made available for sale. It was suppose to be made availabe for sale on Oct 21 but was replaced with the black helmet with yellow trim version. Per Ichibanboshi blog they have postpone the white helmet version for a later date. The confusion that the white helmet was made for sale and sold out comes from how Ichibanboshi operates it's cart system for releases. They did post the white helmet version in their online shopping store with the words sold out before Oct 21 actual sale date. But never made it available. Then they replaced the picture with the black helmet before the Oct 21 actual sales. The actual sales didn't start until Oct 21.

Monkey Man sample paint version per Ichibanboshi back on Oct 13. Anyone know if this color version was ever released?

I don't know. I'm not feeling any of the painted versions. I think the black unpainted was the best. Something just isn't working for me with the paint, especially this new one...

Yeah I agree Slack. I was so excited about this guy but that ended fast. All the paints so far just seem muddy.

The unpainted figure just looks SO COOL, the paint kind of gets in the way...
