a board member sent me this pic which i believe is off a japanese web site . the dinos off to the left are takatoku and the bagged kaiju i believe is an orange along with bird kaiju but the little brown kaiju has me stumped . anyone ever seen this before ?
Isn't that one of the (three) Zollmen / Exohead mini guys? They came as gifts with the first three large Garimpo Galtan's, I believe. I forget their name, damnit all. This one looks like a painted custom. Edit: Monster Parade by Garimpo <a class=\"postlink\" href=\"http://garimpo.jp/?mode=f4\">http://garimpo.jp/?mode=f4</a>
I believe you are correct. If I remember, though, the Garimpo minis were based off of vintage mini figures. That one is "Gikkora."
it's cool to see the vintage toy that inspired the zollmen monster parade guys. i like it...... anybody know who were these made by?
so are you guys saying that that the vinyl in the first pic is an original and that the vinyl parade monsters are based on it ? sounds like it but i just want to be sure.
Hey, Jim. I just noticed that nobody ever responded to your last post in this thread. As I understand it, the little guy next to the shriner elephant is the original toy. I think he's called Gikkola and you can see in that photo that it's a nodder. A Gikkola figure was issued as part of the Monster Parade set as seen in Tinman59's photo. The Monster Parade figure looks like an exact copy of the nodder, minus the nodder function. I don't know who made the nodders or when, but I seem to recall it being discussed somewhere on Skullbrain, but I can't find the thread. Here's a link to a photo of all three Monster Parade figures. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=21259&p=283393&hilit=garimpo+monster+parade#p283393
The nodder is alot larger around medium size the new ones are mini's . There are three different ones.
The guy in the far right background is the Orange/Ark standard vinyk for ZANDORA (ザンドラ), a "Terrobeast" (恐獣) from Episode 15 of the Toho television series ZONE FIGHTER (流星人間ゾーン), produced in 1973. He battles "special guest star" Godzilla in that episode. http://mononofu.hp.infoseek.co.jp/museu ... 04_01.html "You want to know about monsters? I've got answers!"
I love seeing the vintage creature inspiring the Zollmen Monster Parade...P.S., to Zollmen, how about another Monster Parade edition of monsters?
August's post is good. I don't think the hands are supposed to be hollow- probably a part is broken off. The vinyl on Ark/Orange sofubi tends to be thin in some areas.
Ahh, thanks akum........i didnt even see August's post like a dumbass. The pics on the link are fuckin badass. Good stuff.
