Whhhhaatttt? Those are awesome. I would love to see those redone with some crazy colors. The goblin guy (2nd one down) would be amazing in a hawaiian colorway or something. These are really cool finds.
I saw these on Kaiju-taro (or whatever is it) for the first time a few weeks ago and I was blown away. They're generally known as Atlantic Galaxy, and they're essentially model kits. I love love love the sculpting and design, very 70s heavy-metal sci-fi. Here's a good database: http://www.atlanticgalaxy.com/ Billy Galaxy in Portland has a bunch too. Check out Sky-Girl!!
Kinda off topic here but this box is worth having for the typography alone! You don't see that 1960s "space age" sort of font any more, but it's computer-groovy!
heres one of the model kits thats been put together. mines still in the box, as im just to lazy to assemble it yet.
The Atlantic Galaxy series also released some of the characters carded like typical action figures in different colors of plastic with some very minimal and sloppy paint apps. Also there is a car, which doesn't make any sense as it is not to scale with the figures who are not poseable to sit in a vehicle anyhow. Oh, and Atlantic did some Captain Harlock miniatures too.
I happen to have a couple of those ATLANTIC Galaxy Serie figures....and a combination Land-Air vehicle which I rarely see anywhere. I think that it was a mail order exclusive but really not sure. Unfortunately, one of the tail fins has broken off in storage and I am weary about trying to fix it. Still...it still makes a nice display...as you can plainly see. Shown are 3 pictures here...and 3 more in the next post. Enjoy! http://www.flickr.com/photos/39937478@N ... otostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/39937478@N ... otostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/39937478@N ... otostream/
Here are 3 more pics. The 1st pic shows the blueprints of the Land-Air vehicle and a fold-out toy catalog...the 2nd, the rockets, a piece that fits in the plastic canopy on top of the vehicle, and the broken-off tail fin...and in the 3rd, the 2 figures and accessories that I have. http://www.flickr.com/photos/39937478@N ... otostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/39937478@N ... otostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/39937478@N ... otostream/
These are two robots made by Imperial- I think they're knockoffs of Zeroids. A recent trooper has been added to show scale.
Wow I've actually seen these before (with an italian guy store tonelatti something) and thought they were ok, but seeing that goblin outside of the box is actually awesome, didn't think it'd be so cool.
I have a BIG deluxe boxed set of these in different colors. I think there is a strategy game that goes with it. The box has all four of the figures in it. If your looking for these LMK.
