^^ cool ad - thanks for posting. I've always wanted one of those sets top left . . . . mega-rare though
Yes, GeGeGe no Kitaro is super cool! Check out this early vintage 1968 clip, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWAtSxvo ... re=related
Thanks for pointing this out slipstar! I watched the first B&W episode this morning. It's so corny. I really thought those kids were screwed.
The first GeGeGe no Kitaro in B&W is the BEST. The series came out in the 1950's and was animated in the 1960's Original over reissue all day.
Sorry in advance for posting a link to a site that's all in French, and also because this is not vinyl, but it is still pretty cool. It's a new Revoltech figure of Kitaro. This is coming out soon, and is going to be widely available (at least overseas). It's really well done if you like this sort of thing! Also; scroll down for a video comparison of the (subtitled!) opening theme song from the 60s and 07 (the 60's version is much better in my opinion). http://geekinbox.fr/2012/04/26/revoltec ... no-kitaro/

Revoltech Eyeball Father: http://blog.esuteru.com/archives/6273741.html The crying eyeball father (Medama-oyaji) is pretty awesome!
I generally hate Revoltechs (there's *always* one or two super-loose joints in every figure...and it just ruins the play experience)...but that Medama-oyaji is pretty dope. Is it 3600 yen dope? Hmmm...
Just the right amount of rub paint in the wrinkles. The little outfit is quite nice as well. Great score man!
Came across this on a Japanese blog . . . lots of fun They are doing other manga characters as well . . . 水木しげる by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr 水木しげる by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr
