New York Comic Con 2014

i'll take the bait, Gargamel at NYC? how strong is this rumour.

I've never heard of them heading to the NY con?

 

If Gargamel is going to be there, I will probably shit my pants, buy a Deathra, and happily walk out with a warm feeling of happiness stronger than the warmth of turd.

It is wishful thinking on my part. SDCC around corner, so odds are a big no. But one can hope and one can dream

 

Last year I got the three day pass to attend the Evangelion 3.33 screening on Friday and then went all day on Saturday. It was a good show. I meet quite a few folks here, like EVOM and chimmychazz.

I picked up the 4 day this year. I'm hedging my bets that Mori will be there again and I can snag some sweet stuff on Thursday. He had Raidens with him that sold out quick.

It was pretty cool watching it with tons of fans. The collective gasps, awes, giggles and shout-out-louds made it cool/geeky event.

Still no DVD release though.....No idea why.

I watched it with a Skullheadbutt figure in my lap keeping me company.

I think you're looking for the thread for that other Con on the left coast. But stoked to see the crew that Bwana will be rolling with. That would be my first stop at SDCC.

i think NYCC posted Aug 8 comic shops will be selling badges. One shop by me said they havent heard anything though

 

The Onell table won't be there, and Pushead will be doing a competing event on the Saturday. That's a real bummer, since the Onell/Glyos table always had RealXHead, Skull Toys and Uamou and rotated every few hours, giving some other smaller people a chance to sling their wares

I wonder if the big cons are even really worth it anymore from both an independent small toy maker and a collector's perspective.

 

I couldn't even get tickets because I twiddled my thumbs on it for a little bit... and then bam, they were gone. Probably would have been a clusterfuck anyway, I hate crowds. And people. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

 

Yea the crowds were insane. Can't believe nycc is now this hard to get. I hope they make improvements for next year

 

For those who can make it. I quarantine at least one booth worth camping out in

(Is that how you make a wink face? I'm not an emoticon guy haha)

 

Two months away is so far away. Not just for anticipation but for knowing who/what will be there.

I know I'll probably end up buying a Korean hot dog at least. Those were good.

 

Last year, like this year, I only did one day. It's so overwhelming to just do the one day because I feel like there is so much to cram in to such a short amount of time. I need to plan and prepare better this year especially when it comes to taking the time to actually take a break and eat/drink. Maybe I should start training by going to Ikea in Brooklyn and waiting their lines.

 

I will be there selling through Monster Island and the Rampage Toys booth.

Details to come, but you can expect a Bone Usir release, a Cadaver Twins release, a Cadaver Kids release, and Lab Mice.

 

Wow Joe that's lots of releases, hope you can make it to DCon as well.

 

My toys will be there, I'm thinking about it. If the Cinema Monster is done by then I will probably try to make the trip out.

 

just checked out the block exhibitor list. no super7, mishka, or onell.
hope bwana makes it out again, he said last year he would probably do a spot at onell though, so I dunno where he'd even be...
and I guess that means no gargamel or rxh, although gargs presence last year was just rerelease gachas at the mishka booth. hopefully some good stuff at lulu and monster island.

 

I'm surprised Mishka isn't on the list, but they may be added later. Last year Bwana had his own table with a group of people (Grasshut?)

 

Bwana was there with Yakimonster's ceramics.
