I'm sure some of you brainers like gwar..in some way..just thought I'd share a pic from a recent video shoot in new orleans singer is David aka Oderus its hot as hell in Louisiana..
Not really a fan of Gwar's, but I've seen them a couple dozen times as they open for everyone. They put on a good live show. Had a good time at the Gwar show (SDCC)...the open bar helped! BTW, what was the video shot for?
Ahh GWAR! I've always had a great time at their shows! Here's some pics from a blood soaked outdoor show I was at a few years back... ...good times.
it was for a stupid fox nascar related thing. not sure when it airs or if it already has. and RedYoda..I might be able to help you with the whole Gwar at your wedding thing....not sure how much they'd charge..but that would be one hell of a wedding reception! great shot by the way
I saw them a few times between '89-92. First time was in a tiny club with about 175 person capacity. There was nowhere to hide from the blood and guts. Pretty awesome. I still love their Hell-o album more than the other stuff. Think I still have a vinyl copy buried somewhere in the record collection.
gwar rules the universe you stupid humans!! everybody should see their cinematic masterpiece,,phallus in wonderland...gibby hanyes cameoing as fritz lang is worth it in itself... i agree about hell-o,,but scumdogs of the universe & america must be detroyed are close behind..not sure about their recent stuff though...
I like gwar, but i've only seen them live once...while it was fun, i probably won't see them live again. Their fans are awful. They tend to attract a crowd as full of lowlives as the ICP/Juggalos. While i was there one of the guys next to me had "white power" tattooed on his arm in big letters.
That's funny, they've made fun of Nazis/white power guys numerous times pretty harshly too. I think GWAR is always fun, I've seen them a million times. I only have 3 or 4 albums, but I've heard it all through time.
Yeah, I think I had the complete opposite experience when I saw them. I went arse over tit down the front and this huge guy (I mean huge, and i'm 6"3') just yanked me up to my feet so noone stood on me. The new stuff is weird though, its like they're actually trying to make coherant songs. Works though, I blame the new guitarist fella.
hmmm...maybe its just the phoenix fans...i heard from a friend in chicago that their fans sucked there, and there were a lot of neo-nazi's at that show.
strange,,in all the gwar shows i ever went to,,there were never neo-nazis... always just fun-loving scumbags,,metalheads and arty punk types... maybe they were there to kick some long hair ass?? or maybe they are just really confused in the midwest??
i haven't seen any neo-nazi's at any gwar shows i've been to either. every time i see cannibal corpse in Minneapolis, MN though, the same huge crowd of neo's are there...
Weird Nazis would even go to their shows since they kill one on that Slaughterama song: "Time to give this Nazi skinhead one more haircut, real close to the shoulders like. Whoa! His heads been decapitated. Look at all that PSI in he aorta artery" I used to be way into them when I was 13-15, not so much anymore. Still rad though.
Gwar is probably my favorite band of all time! My band got to open for them and municipal waste a few years back and it was probably the single greatest day of my entire life. There new album just came out about a month or 2 ago it's called Lust in Space and it's really rad. i suggest checking it out, they are going back to a bit more of there goofy lyrics which is awesome, the newer metal stuff was good but i miss the scumdog days!
Got to see Rawg(gwar without the costumes) once in a park in DC. It was not the same to say the least.
Oh I totally forgot about X-Cops. That "You Have The Right To Remain Silent" record was awesome. I need to find that again.
