Post anyone here collect legos?
it will be relieving to know i'm not the only adult lame enough to get into lego minifigs.
and if i'm not, i've been trying to find a good online archive of older stuff, before the whole star wars/movie character phase...or if there is a book published out there or something.
anyone got some insight?

I'm part of those dads who can't wait for their kids to outgrow Duplos... Actually got the Death Star last year. It's now in the process of being demolished by my 2-year old.

There is a great archive out there... But I'm on my phone right now, so will try to remember to look at my bookmarks tomorrow.

There's a good book simply called "The Lego Book". I'm not sure if all versions of it come with a smaller book that is all about mini figures, but the version I looked at did. I saw it at B&N, it was pretty awesome and gave a chronological history of everything.

edit: This Book, looks like the mini fig. book comes with it.

I'm a LEGO guy too, although I haven't been too active in the last few years with the exception of picking up the occassional Star Wars set-

Unfortunately, with my little apartment all of my LEGO sets are in storage with the exception of the latest Slave-I set and all the availablr Bounty Hunter Mini figures from Empire Strikes Back..

This is it: http://guide.lugnet.com/set/

It's not pretty, but I found all the sets I had when I was a kid. Seems fairly complete.

I've posted this somewhere else but:

It's big. And has now been thoroughly destroyed.

How I wish my parents had stopped me from getting rid of my Lego collection. I think I was 10 or 11 and decided to sell them in a garage sale.

I still have most of the early Space sets... Fun!

I fucking love Lego. Hands down best toy ever made, if you disagree you're an asshole. :D

I don't collect it, but have played with Lego since I was a kid. Now a days I'll go out and buy a set or two build it let it hang out in the house for a bit then take it apart and give it to my boy for his kid.

Post Re: anyone here collect legos?
I literally have tens of thousands of LEGO bricks/elements. I was into it big time about 10 years ago, but it got to a point where I just didn't have the space or time to actually take it all out and build something. I sold part of the collection off and the rest is in storage right now. Like I said, though, I still have literally tens of thousands of LEGO elements.

In the LEGO community, after a kid gets to the point that they think they've outgrown LEGO and they give it away or sell it, it's called the Dark Ages. LOL I'm afraid I may be entering the Dark Ages again. :(

By the way, while I've already sold off most of the vintage Town, Space, and Pirate sets and minifigs that I had, I still have all the vintage Castle sets and minifigs in my collection. :) I have found those the most difficult to let go. Oh, I have a bunch of Star Wars LEGO, too. I like the Star Wars minifigs. LEGO minifigs > Kubricks. :P

Like someone said above, http://www.lugnet.com is a great resource. I've also found http://www.bricklink.com to be helpful. It's more of a buying/selling resource, but the archive is fairly comprehensive and I've actually found a few things on bricklink that I couldn't find on lugnet.

I hope all the nostalgia is OK  . I remember vividly pitting US astronauts (white) against Soviet cosmonauts (red) in cold war battles fought in space. I think those battles would frequently end with one or the other side being lined up and having their helmets ripped off so they would die in the vacuum of space.

I also had that Galaxy explorer and the tracking station. Best toys of my childhood.
