Five Star Toy x Ganking Akuma Shogun Level 7 Emerald (armor hardness) Version http://item.rakuten.co.jp/ganking/nsc_akumaganking0930/
Five Star Toy x Toyful collab Pink Meat bank pre-sale up next week: http://nama-niku.blogspot.com/2011/10/f ... oyful.html
Is that the black & white version? I picked up the b&w one a while back (and I'm pretty sure it said "Niku" or "Meat" on his t-shirt). It was 5k offa Y!J, so after fees, that'd probably be around $70. A lot for a midsized figure, but I'm kinda used to paying a bit for these guys. The vinyl is super glossy and heavy/thick, so the toys are absolutely top-notch quality! I *really* need to get a photo of my shelf posted!
For all those Kinnikuan/CCP fans, I am visiting the CCP toy factory in Gotana (Tokyo) on Friday with Yudetamago's manager. I will take as many pics as permitted and share for sure. Pic of my visit with Yudetamago last night: They have the entire collection of Five Star Toys Sofvi and CCP figures in their personal collection. Will be posting more pics on my blog soon!
I would, frankly, show up with the largest suitcase I could find and walk out of there with it full of vinyl!
That's just greedy--I'd settle for just a lead on where to find the few FiveStars I need! Plus, if you tried to rob Yudetamago, I'm sure they'd tag team you and figure a way to suplex and pile-drive you at the same time!
Heh...I know it seems funny to try to talk folks into collecting these--because that just means more competition for me!! But for real, these toys are surprisingly awesome. They've actually inspired me to sit down and finally read the scanlations of the original manga!
Hopefully we will continue to see many more great figures from Five Star in the future. The new Kinnikuman series starts on 11/28, so there is plenty of steam still driving demand for the franchise. Found out when I was in Tokyo that Ikegami of BamBam88 actually does some of the figure designs for Five Star Toys. The guy who started Five Star is apparently a protege of Ikegami's and the people from both companies are all buddies with Yudetamago. The BamBam guys said they even communicate pretty openly with companies like CCP so they do not overlap each other with collabs/popular character releases. I really wanted to visit the Five Star factory but it is located pretty far outside of Tokyo... next time maybe. Need to post my CCP factory vist ~ is there an existing CCP thread on SB?
Absolutely! These are great. Shit...if I knew you were gonna be going to BamBam88, I woulda begged you to pester them (or anyone over there, really!) for the couple I still need! Anyway, thanks for that info on BamBam; I was beginning to wonder how they were related to FiveStar... I don't recall there being a dedicated CCP thread; I'd just do a quick Search and if nothing turns up, start a new one. I'm sure whatever you post will be cool to see, but honestly, I'm just not really feeling the CCP Kinnikuman offerings. They look cool as hell...but they're just statues. Heh, of course, so are the original kinkeshi! But you can still play with kinkeshi or MUSCLE figures (or the FiveStar ones, of course) in a way you just can't with the CCP figures.
New from Punk Drunkers and Five Star Toy! http://nama-niku.blogspot.com/2011/11/i ... -five.html These new figures are SUPER SICK!!!
Holy shit...agreed: Rikishiman has NEVER looked that killer! Sold out in hours? That means flipper prices for me... :/
Ya, this one sold out soo fast. Can't believe I missed out on it! I thought I would be fine waiting until the next morning to pre-order... If you have any contacts in Japan, Punk Drunkers will often times put cancelled pre-orders out on the shelf at their Shibuya store.
And even more new releases from Five Star.... Brocken Jr. Red Rain of Berlin ver. TOYFUL Exclusive Kinnikuman Pink ver. http://nama-niku.blogspot.com/2011/11/f ... -down.html
Ah that Berlin version, very nice!! Would love to twin him up with the green release. What's going on with the white glove?
The Red Raid of Berlin is one of his finishing moves that he pulls off with his left hand. The figure has a glow in the dark hand just to highlight the power and speed of the move... hence the Red Rain of Berlin version.
